I think your story should just be about a Senator who is a good man and his destruction (for contrary to the posts here for FR, he did not self-destruct) at the hands of the media who were determined to see him lose.

I don't think my therapist would allow that.

You could purge by writing and then you would not need a therapist. I can't do anything about the fish though.
