Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

The other trouble is that kids' songs are done by so many different artists that it can be hard to find a particular CD based on lyrics or song titles.

We had some records when I was little that we wore out or that got scratched...stuff that never made it onto tape, let alone CD. Kids' stuff, plus some holiday ones. Kinda sad. I miss 'em.

So...I just finished typing up a 2000 word summary of my story in hopes that it would help me fill in the gaping holes, which I realize mostly come down to three spots.

That still doesn't help.

Can I include the summary in my word count? Heh.

I was thinkin' yesterday that if I actually ~had~ a story, I'd give it a run, just to see how far I could get.

But...I got...nuthin'...

And how was your day?

Well...The Mayor of Yuma, AZ called today. It was a wrong number. Heh.

Want mine? It's kinda...well used. But maybe you could patch it.

Just found another character that literally must die. I need his deathbed confession. And my characters are really lousy at doing any actual killing.

Except for amnesia chick, who in the past did quite a bit of killing, but who has no actual motive for the killing yet. That's one of the giant plot holes.

If you think it was English, maybe try searching on http://www.amazon.co.uk?

There's some potential in the front back, the one-size fits all holster needs work, but a good idea.

that was "Sharon, Lois, and Bram".

That's who it was! I left for the grocery store just after I posted that and was singing it while I was driving. Funny how you remember stuff like that. I couldn't remember all the words, but the tune was cute.

Why not go to amazon.uk , put in some of those song names and see if anything pops up.

OK, here's a couple I found that both have "Rubber Blubber Whale" which was written by Si Kahn, of folksinging fame. The first CD is by John McCutcheon, who is an awesome singer and hammered dulcimer player. It's called Howjadoo. The next one is by Charlotte Diamond, and is called Diamonds and Dragons. I don't know anything about her.

You could listen to both and see if anything sounds familiar.

No such luck, Osage...

Good morning everyone! We're up early, the storm I've been in denial about is going to hit this morning with more high winds expected. In a pleasant switch, this one will hit around first light and blow during daylight today. Wind is already getting a little gusty out there.

We've fed horses already and our plan is probably to turn them out at daylight, and then play it by ear on whether they want back in. This one will bring rain with it.

We're filling buckets of water and getting ready, I think I'm going to take a bath here in a few minutes while I can.

Prayers for our trees, and our nerves, and our horse's nerves, would be appreciated :~) Just wanted to let you all know what was going on in case we lose electricity again....

~sip~

Well, follow a big semi truck, if he doesn't blow over, you won't either :~)

If it gets super nasty, we'll go get Cisco today, if you want.

Yeah, if you'd be willing to get him, that'd be great! Supposed to pour, isn't it?

I'm feeling a bit of deja vu for some reason.

We don't mind getting him if it's nasty. This one is supposed to bring some rain with it.

And we might be having a Tsunami.... did you see that? Maybe we'll head to the ocean today, should be good surf :~)
