Hang in there! If someone was out of town, it may have delayed everything for that time.
Whoa! That frontpack is mighty useful!

So...my day started with rebooting a server at six-thirty and ended with OCRing/typing two handouts into the system, one on genital warts and the other on a gynecological procedure that hurt just typing about it. And Word was being so uncooperative that I think I've decided I really just want a typewriter.
And how was your day?
The knifespork cracks me up. Poor perverted little thing...and the colors kinda add insult to injury.
Heh. When we moved into our house in NJ, the neighbors told us stories about the guy we bought the house from. He'd come home after dark, in the summer, strap a flashlight on to the mower and cut his yard. Folks with little children, who they had finally gotten to sleep because it got dark so late, were NOT amused!
EEEWWW!
I'm just sayin'.
Some days I love my job, but...
I got another call this evening this time guaranteeing I'd get word tomorrow. It isn't "you get the job or not" word, it's whether I come on direct right away or if I contract for a while first.
Hrm.
In the paper back home:
"Would the redhead that was buying LP gas at Mortin Pet Depot in June 2005 that said hi and I said hi back please call 802-XXX-XXXX"
That's a little vague, don'cha think?
~chuckling~ Yikes :~D
If those drink holder carabiners are not good enough, there exist ones that are. I own three different types. The smaller one I took to Japan back in '03 and LOVED it. I spend basically the whole trip with a bottle of Pocari Sweat hanging from my belt on that thing. It is like having a canteen that, when empty takes up no space and weighs almost nothing. Now I never go on trips without one in my bag, just in case a hiking trip breaks out and I need it.
That's kind of sad, actually, it's taken him 18 months to even try?
Ok, people. I am looking for an album we had on tape when I was little. It was all zoo themed. One song was called "Rubber blubber whale", one has a verse that went "My rhinoceros likes donuts", there was a song about "bats eat bugs (they don't eat people)" and it had a poem called either "Albert and the Lion" or "The Lion and Albert", depending on source. I think the album was called "Going to the Zoo". But I can't even find a listing for it with Google. Any bright ideas? There are several kids' cds with this name but none of the ones that are coming up are the right ones.
I would be a hero with my family if I found a copy of this for my youngest brother for Christmas...
Doesn't ring a bell...which is surprising considering just how many kids tapes we went through over the years...
*sigh*
In other news, I wonder if I could make 50k if I just started a new story and wrote like crazy.
I hate my characters, I hate my story, and I don't know how to make them kill each other like they're supposed to.
I haven't written a word all day. It sucks.
Oh, and that was the most awesome kids' tape ever. Ever, ever, ever. We wore that tape out from playing it so much. We still remember most of the songs.
I wonder if it was a local collection, maybe? Or a compilation of some sort? It may not have ever made it onto CD or been produced for long.
Heh...all I wrote all day was a long rant about how much I hate my story. Thought *maybe* if I got it all down, it'd get things moving, but it didn't. I'm close enough to the end that all the loose ends I've been pushing further out have to get tied up, but I'm no closer to knowing where to put them than I've ever been.
Type out as much as you can remember from a lyric and google that.
Try looking for Raffi on Amazon.com, and it will likely show you some other performers of children's songs as well. There was a trio; two women, one man, who did a TV show, and they did lots of songs like that, but I can't remember them. I just remember a song that they did in Spanish that I just loved about an elephant balancing on a spider's web.
Yeah, that was "Sharon, Lois, and Bram". It wasn't them, or Raffi. I don't think it was a local compilation either and I've found a couple references to the songs I can remember (one a post from someone on a myspace/livejournal type blog saying she was looking for the same, it had no useful info but did confirm that I'm not too crazy)
I'm almost thinking it may have been English. The one poem I definitely remember being read by someone with an English accent but that could have been for effect. There was a tortoise-and-hair story told on the tape too and the storyteller had a vaguely English voice. Since my grandmother is English and she and my grandfather made several trips over there when I was young, and since I think she was the source in the first place, that could be where it's from.
