The Hobbit Hole XXXI - Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I figure that NOTHING will be known for sure before midnight, so we're watching the 'Trailers' channel on HD Net.

There are a few interesting looking movies coming out in the next few months. One is Babel, and we just saw the trailer for Apocalypto. We don't go to the movies that often, so it's good being able to see the trailers for upcoming films. There was another one for a movie with Billy Bob Thornton as a mean high school coach, something about "Mr. Woodcock". It looked like a real hoot.

Congrats on the job!

In other news, I've got a permanent one, too.

I'm worried about Jeanne, but we'll see how it goes.

Sorry to hear that Sam, hope everything turns out ok.

We Meet At Dawn.

Too bad the only choices are: Liberal, Socialist, Communist, or "What the heck for?"

Althought it wasn't marked as such, I voted straight ticket for the "Lesser Of All Evils" party.

Thanks! My official start day is Monday 11/13, although since I'm being converted from contractor to regular employee I'll just be doing the same work I've been doing for the past four months or so.

Oh, great news! I'm glad for you.

When I interviewed Friday, the position was "contract to direct" but today I was told they want me on direct right away. Yay! Paid vacation!

Dadgummit! Nothing to do with voting and therefore trivial, but...this character point-blank refuses to be completely evil, and just *won't* behave! I've about had it with her. I don't understand her.

I live in a democratic cesspool. I truly detest this state.

Think I'll go bury some cash in the back yard. They'll be coming for it soon.

It's a long and confusing story that has been going on for over 25 years, but IMO some of the recent treatment may be the problem...one hematologist is coming around to that conclusion as well, but I've thought so for quite awhile. Her particular condition is poorly understood by modern medicine, but the guy in John's Hopkins is supposed to be one of the best and most experienced on it. Luckily the hospital and the doc are covered by insurance. Thanks for asking.
