The Hobbit Hole XXXI - Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Who knows? The recruiter thought tomorrow or Tuesday but the guy who would be my immediate boss is out of town all week. But it was just the HR/manager person who had to finalize the decision.

These kittens have just about ~had~ it with this weather, they're racing around the house like whirling dervishes.

They've been let out, but they barely leave the porch. I had no idea how much energy they usually burn outside.

Considering this weather makes even my cats nuts, for some reason, I can't imagine what cats that are used to having all outdoors to play in must feel like.

Cisco's been holding it all day. He went out this morning when it wasn't so wet, but since then, I open the door, he looks out, he turns around and gives me a "What do you think I am, crazy?" kind of a look, and goes back to lie down. Makes me nervous. ;-) I swear he's practically keeping his legs crossed.

I want to be on record somewhere as thnking the GOP may actually gain seats this election.

Since this is based entirely on "gut feeling" after reading and seeing and hearing various types of media (Drive-By and Pajamahadeen, and in between), I'd just as soon not be on record too publicly.

Get Out And Vote!

Which was our thinking exactly. Talon has lots of home repair and building skillz but hadn't done much plumbing. I am a newbie at both. So this was a good experience. Sort of.

Ugh. Waking up to Monday is bad. Waking up with a raging eye problem is worse. Finding out one of the dogs has an eye problem is even more so.

You are twenty percent finished in less than a week. Excellent!

Heh...we could lock you in the Hobbit Hole and make you write.

My current plan:

1) if we ~win~, the heck with Nanowrimo it's Gloatfest time.

2) if we lose, I'll prolly sign off until around Thanksgiving and concentrate on writing. I don't want to be around here or the blogs for the armchair punditry.

It really is a tossup at this point. It will depend on the GOTV efforts.

My nerves are ~quite~ frayed.

I read that Guiliani was campaigning for Allen. He should help. I like the mayor.

The quantity thing is working out so far...the quality, not so much. ;-)

But I guess that's what rewrites are for. On the plus side, my story is actually advancing and holes are filling in, albeit with still plenty of unresolved ones.
