Talon: Skip to the end!
Welcome everyone, please post your kind words and well wishes to our JenB and TalonDJ, who will be married Saturday :~)
Ring Ping!! |
Please support our Hobbit Hole Pocket knives for the troops project.
Anyone wishing to be added to or removed from the Ring-Ping list, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Most excellent!!
Good luck to you both!
Hobbit Hole love has worked for me-n-ecurbh. :~)
Their idea was that we'd be too exhausted from the day to really enjoy the moment, so we ought to wait until after a nap to um, enjoy the moment. Of course we all laughed, and they said that they were sure none of us would follow that advice, but they threw it out there any way. We didn't follow it, and as a result, missed the Debut of Saturday Night Live!
I'm just sayin, is all. ;o)
I'll be remembering you in my prayers on Saturday, and wishing I could be there to enjoy the festivities, though y'all won't be thinking of anyone but each other, as it should be. Best Wishes for a long and happy life together!
We'll definitely HAVE to have another Moot in 2007 so we can ALL have a great time visiting with each other.
I do know couples who did nothing but eat, then crash after their fancy and stressful weddings!
I'll give them the advice my dad gave me... Get out of the reception as soon as you possibly can! They'll have a fine party without you and you will be more exhausted than you think. Find someplace to have a terrific meal, and de-stress a bit, then do what you want :~)
Hair's dad sure was right about that. After about 20 minutes of receptioning, I just wanted out of there.
You might want to plan on getting something to eat, too. We were far too busy meeting and greeting to eat anything at the reception. After we left, we went out for steak and lobster and pints, checked into our room, and had an enjoyable afternoon. :)
Actually, I didn't want out of there, I wanted to stay, but I realized as soon as we left, how much we ~needed~ to get out of there. :~)
It's the same stresses everyone has at their wedding, I'm sure... being fussed at and fussed over, having to smiles and be gracious to a bunch of new relatives you barely know who all want to talk to you and give you advice and well wishes... It wears a hobbit out :~)
We went to a JP, and he gave this marvelously serious lecture about being patient and understanding ... and everytime we caught one another's eye, we started laughing helplessly!
For my tenth anniversary, I want a do-over, with a real ceremony and a party afterwards ... and this time, I will be serious during the ceremony!
... really, I will!
May you love all of your life, and live out all of your love. No cake smashing, and raise a full champagne flute for us. Congratulations!
Remember those billboards a few years ago?
"Loved the wedding, invite me to the marriage. - God"
Previous WeddingMoot (sort of)
You're welcome :)
Congratulations!
Thanks for the good wishes everyone!
Talon will be arriving this morning. As the keyword says, about bloody time!
*sigh* I love weddings.
I'm getting the car washed today, picking out my outfit, prepping my camera and packing a bag. Can't wait to hit the road and get to the festivities! (PA sure is purty this time of year)
The forecast for tomorrow is 75 and sunny. Perfect September weather that I was betting on! The reception will be great!
I'm on my way! (well, almost). Looking forward to sharing the happy occasion with you two. I'll take pictures so you'll remember I was there.
I'm so proud of you!
As you know, ever since I've met you both, you've been such an inspiration and encouragement to me!
I could say a lot...but I think if I just say this, it'll be enough...
Stay friends. When you're taking those vows, don't ever forget that the person beside you is not only your wife or husband, but your very best friend in the world. God put that person there just for you.
And have a good time!!
