Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Heh...my Dad's from Wisconsin, and his name's Bob. So...

In the story, actually, the name Bob was already taken by the main character, Dark Lord Bob.

Welcome to the Hobbit Hole! I was the semi-official Hobbit Hole NaNoWriMo Cheerleader but Rose in Rosebear is much better at it than I am now. I still try to hook anyone who expresses the slightest interest though. I think it's a wonderful exercise for any writer. You just can't worry about anything other than the act of getting words on paper.

This will be my fifth year doing it. I'm very excited. TalonDJ and I will be doing this together... we'll see if it's a motivator or if we just end up distracting each other.

Why would the Toaster of Doom use llamas to do his dirty work?

Well for one thing, they spit.

Evenin'.

Winging It: On Writing a 50,000 Word Novella Without Saying Much of Anything and Using Way Too Many Adjectives and Other Annoying Modifiers in the Attempt to Tell a Story That Does Not Go Anywhere Nor Make Any Sense to Any Sentient Being Who May Inhabit the Universe

How's that for a working title?

So... do you think I can count my resume toward my word count?

Maybe I can sneak an SOP in my word count.

Sure. I thought maybe I could mention that there are no animatronic strippers in the story.

Just tack a ": Being the true tale without elaboration, interpolations, or animatronic strippers" to the end.

I've been pulling ideas off the dare thread like crazy because I'm just not going to be able to work anamatronic strippers in. What's the exchange rate for other dares versus anamatronic strippers?

Sure, if I can count my blog stuff...

(how many words in a jpeg?)

I didn't think to get any candy.

Considering I have a four foot fence and no working outdoor light, I doubt anyone will attempt to trick-or-treat anyhow, but...

Wonder if I should electrify the fence, just in case.

We're ignoring the hobgoblins. Lights out, curtains drawn, and we're in the back room anyway.

Animatronic strippers top all. It'll have to be, like, fifteen dares.
