Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I read a review of that movie. It made me want to read the BOOK instead. ;o)

Saw a bumper sticker the other day that said "My gamer fragged your honor student".

I wasn't quite sure how to take that...

Hmmm... didn't know it was a book. Will definately have to read it. The movie was very interesting ... once you got beyond the fact that it was yet another Anne Hathaway makeover show. But I'd rather see her do films like that than Brokeback Mtn.

Hmmm... I wonder why that made you think of me? He's a hoot!

Ugh, I am getting sick of having no web email or FR access at work. Stoopid policies. On the other hand at least I had stuff to stay occupied with today.

"My gamer fragged your honor student".

LOL! Joseph says that's awesome. I told him I'd rather have one that says "My gamer IS an Honor Student".

The reviewer didn't like the way the Meryl Streep character was played. In the book, she was a cast iron b*tch, but in the movie she was a little softer. I'll have to check the book out of the library. Maybe I can get back down there before we head down South.

Good looking sword and it sounds like you only have about 5,820 links left to go...

even include these roles which don't appear in The Hobbit or are only mentioned marginally, like Legolas and Saruman.

This would involve one of the problems with a prequel, because at the time of the Hobbit Saruman would have to be unquestionably virtuous, if not very personable, so that his relationship with Gandalf as seen in the start Fellowship of the Ring would make sense.

I don't see how that would be a problem. It would be clear to most everyone going to see the show that the events take place BEFORE LOTR, so seeing how Saruman USED to be before he was corruputed by Sauron.

Spiderboy is busy working on his black belt. He should have it by December.

Bittygirl is busy coloring right now. She has learned to climb ladders.

Msdrby is having a blast with school. She is REALLY involved in one local co-op.
