Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Mawwage is what bwings us togethew today!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

That'll work....

Griddles are easier to see when it's time to flip, for one thing. And they seem to need less greasing.

I bet gas stoves heat the pan more evenly than electric stove ... that's key I think.

I don't like the packaged ones as much, though - they're too poofy and taste chemically.

So...I guess I *am* a pancake snob after all.

Ha! There you go!

Matthew is learning about different types of telescope mounts. I took the opportunity to dash out and finish another rim. So now I have two rims ready for tires!

Now I just have to find a tire company that will put 165SR15 tires on 'em. As soon as OT gets here and finishes eating, we'll get them!

Woohooo! I'll take pictures!

As long as I don't have to caulk anything...

LOL!!!

I promise, you won't have to do any work! All I'm asking of you is that you drive me home from the festival! :-D

But I did think it would be fun to go get the tires for these two rims. Then I can put them on my good side of my beetle and take a picture of it! I think it will really snaz it up!

But I'm having a real hard time finding tires. I need 165SR15's and I'm getting a bit worried!

I'm going to have to get offline and call around, I guess.

Yep...might have to resort to ordering online...but shipping is vey 'spensive!

I just called a fellow Club member and they gave me some tips. He said a lot of places don't carry them but will order them for you.

*Sigh*

The guy at werk thinks I'm wasting my time with the wood windows.

OB had a friend like that at work too. Nothing OB did was going to work, it all needed to be done according to the 'know-it-all" solution. Mr. Negative thinker is no longer among the living, small wonder, that.

He just thinks I'm not going to stop the drafts with caulk and glazing and I'd be better off just replacing them all with double-paned argon stuff.

Well,I think it all depends on what one wants to spend for the desired results and the amount of time required to recoup the investment. The glazing and caulking will cut down the drafts, not as much as double-paned argon windows, of course, but good results for the money invested.

I found some!

I ordered them and will pick them up Friday afternoon...they were $43 a piece. Not too bad! He also said they'd throw away my old tires for me too.

So I'm going to take the two that are still on their rims and have them take them off and discard the tires, then I'll have to bring them home and get them ready for tires too.

Outstanding! Great that he'll take your old ones, too, so you don't have to fool with that.

Naaaahhhh....can't tell him that. He volunteers to sharpen my mower blade for me. He likes to play with the fancy tools at werk.
