I'm originally from Georgia, so I couldn't believe some of these nasty insects we found when we moved up here. We occasionally find these big green bugs that look like radioactive flies; I mean, these things look like regular houseflies but they're about as big as a thumb!

We have a pool, too, and we're always finding dead scary bugs in our filter.

Oik. We get those big green flies in the garage sometimes. We have an electric zotter, like a hotwired tennis racquet, that fries them. It also vaporizes fruit flies, which is pretty fun :-).

Yeah, we get them buzzing around in our garage. We need a zotter!

Last week the funniest thing happened. One of the big ones got into the kitchen! So my Mom screamed and threw a towel over it. It was trapped...but everytime she'd touch the towel, you could hear it inside buzzing. She was really freaking out.

This was happening on the table, so she she had to wrap the whole thing up in the table cloth and gently carry it outside. Out there, she put the whole wrapping on the patio table and started slowly unraveling it...until the big Mothra creature appeared! So scared out of her mind (I was watching through the glass door), she picked up a nearby rod and poked at it from a distance to get it to fly away. And it flew right at her face!!! I've never heard her scream like that before; it was hysterical. All the dogs in the neighborhood were barking their lungs out.

Well, if it wasn't for the laptop, I'd have to drive back into work to use the desktop. It's like a blessed curse. Or something.

I will also miss him a lot. I kind of wish I'd watched his show more in the last couple of years.
