My Mom told me and I heard that actor from Gone with the Wind. Lesley Howard ..(Ashley), was shot down in his plane in World War 2 on a mission and killed.
What ever happened to Sean Flynn , son of Errol FLynn in Vietnam, I believe he was a reporter and just disappearred there. He was reporting on what our vets were doing. Maybe he knew too much?

They weren't all vets at the time. That came after the war. And, as far as "knowing too much" about what they "were doing," I hope you're not suggesting that this man was killed by members of the US military. It's very surprising, and disturbing, to read on a conservative site, if you are.
Leslie Howard served in The British Army in WW1. His plan was shot down (as a civilian) over the Bay of Biscay by The Luftwaffe in 1943

In 1943 he visited Lisbon (some say on a secret mission), and on the return flight his plane was shot down by the Luftwaffe over the Bay of Biscay, possibly because the Germans believed the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, who had been in Algiers, to be on board. The possibility of mistaken identity is increased as Howard's manager, Alfred Chenhalls, physically resembled Churchill, while Howard was tall and thin, like Churchill's bodyguard, Walter H. Thompson.
Sean Flynn was the grandson of Errol Flynn...mother was actress Lili Damita.

The grandson, who is the son of one of Flynn's daughters named Rory, is a teenage actor who's on a Nickelodeon series. His father is an Israeli named Gideon Amir.

I'm a big Leslie Howard fan. His son and daughter both wrote books about their father, which are worth reading.
It may not be the best poem in the world, but I found the below verses online. It expresses the same thought I always have - that he (and so many other great stars) has a kind of immortality, and we can see him on the screen as alive as moviegoers in the 1930's and 40's saw him:

It seems Newspapers, Television and Radio has been more than ready to put them and their message before the public. Look what the entertainers of 1943 were doing, 60 years ago. Most of these brave men have since passed on. These are the real award winners! Alec Guinness (Star Wars) operated a British Royal Navy landing craft on D-Day. James Doohan ("Scotty" on Star Trek) landed in Normandy with the U.S. Army on D-Day. Donald Pleasance (The Great Escape) really was a R.A.F. pilot who was shot down, held prisoner and tortured by the Germans. David Niven was a Sandhurst graduate and Lt. Colonel of the British Commandos in Normandy. James Stewart flew 20 missions as a B-24 pilot in Europe. Clark Gable (Mega-Movie Star when war broke out) was a waist gunner flying missions on a B-17 in Europe. Charlton Heston was an Army Air Corps Sergeant in Kodiak. Earnest Borgnine was a U.S. Navy Gunners Mate 1935-1945. Charles Durning was a U.S. Army Ranger at Normandy. Charles Bronson was a tail gunner in the Army Air Corps. George C. Scott was a U.S. Marine. Tyrone Power (an established movie star when Pearl Harbor was bombed) joined the Marines, was a pilot flying supplies into, and wounded Marines out of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Audie Murphy, little guy from Texas, most decorated serviceman of WWII.
