I'll prolly be up for a few more hours here
do the campus book stores still sell used books? I always got them when I could. SOme profs changed texts often however.
oh golly, that is terrible! I hope you two don't have to get separated often. Is drill monthly? Any chance he will be redeployed?
Good for you. You are looking out to protect yourself. In college I house sat for these people. I was used to being alone but the fact this was a two story house unnerved me at night. No way could I sleep upstairs. I always imagined someone downstairs! I could sleep downstairs somewhat better but not much. I'd be in that house two, three weeks at a time while they were in Europe. Can you believe in the mornings I'd almost be late leaving for work because I'd get scared and paralyzed in the kitchen imagining somebody behind the door that went into the attached garage! I did not drive the car but I would leave via the back door out of the back of the garage. I would listen so severely, so sure someone was in the garage. Like you say, heart beating so loud I really could not hear anything else.
Yep.
The campus has two bookstores (the official one and then another one across Downer from campus specializing in used texts)
However, a lot of the used books were so marked up they weren't worth it--and the new books were only two dollars more...
I still try to buy used as much as possible though.
One class in particular has six or seven books...
Gas prices are 3.09 a gallon...milk is 3.89 a gallon. My housing is low because I own the dwelling, but it's still higher than I have ever seen for mobile home spaces.
It's better than the alternative...having the abusive creep back in the home. But it's not easy being alone. Especially when the kids want a male rolemodel. They latch onto anyone who will show them some attention.
I hope that you can get your own office someday before too long. If you had your own office, you'd get more money. The work might take more of your time, but you'd do well with it.
Just having a quick read through on my way to bed - hi all of you.
My cold seems a little better but will take it easy tomorrow. Today I had to go out as the kettle had gone wrong and needed to exchange it. Felt dreadful afterwards and slept most of the rest of the day.
Night all will endeavour to drop into tomorrow night.
All the best
Eleanor
You should DEFINITELY avoid the movie "Donnie Darko."
well, bummer.. Missed you on two threads tonight.
Get to feeling better Missy!
I didn't see Harvey or Donnie Darko..
what are they about?
Today I came across this neat picture of a swimming anaconda. It is expensive. But cool.

Harvey is an old James Stewart movie where the main character has an imaginary friend who is a giant white rabbit. It's sort of a comedy.
Donnie Darko is a cult movie (dark comedy thriller) that came out in 2001: it stars Jake Gyllenhaal and is about a deeply disturbed teenager who has nightmarish visions about a gigantic, hideous rabbity creature.
There you are!
Oh, yeah.
Our cat has bad allergies and poor hygeine. Any visit to the vet for him ain't cheap.
My message to all of the non-custodial dads: BE THERE whenever the kids want to see you--even if it means breaking a hot date!
