Child Dies In Boone Co.Car Crash
A Raliegh County child has died as a result of the injuries she received after being a passenger of a vehicle involved in a traffic crash shortly after midnight.(08-31-2006) while riding as a passenger of a vehicle being driven by his father. The Boone County Sheriff?s Office is investigating the crash which led to the death of 4 year old Tyler Evans, of Clear Fork, Raleigh County, WV. He was a passenger of a vehicle, along with his 2 year old brother, and their father, Terry Evans, of Clear Fork, Raleigh County.
Charged in the crash was 22 year old Christian Javier Sanchez Rubio of Whitesville, WV. Rubio was charged with the felony count of Driving Under the Influence Causing Death after the child died today at the Charleston Area Medical Center?s, General Hospital. DUI Causing Death is a felony which carries a potential sentence of 1 to 10 years in prison.
According to reports from the crash scene, Rubio was driving his 2000 Dodge Dakota pickup truck westbound on WV Rt. 3, and Evans was heading eastbound in his 2002 model Ford. Investigators believe that at the time of the crash, which was just after midnight, Rubio was traveling left of center and traveled across the center line, into the path of Evans' vehicle, hitting it head-on. Investigators believe that speed and alcohol may have been factors in the incident
After being cut from the vehicle by members of the Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department, the victims were transported from the scene to CAMC General by Boone County and Whitesville Ambulances, where the child died a short time later.
The child's body has been taken to the WV Medical Examiner?s Office in Charleston for an autopsy.
Boone County Sheriff's Department has arrest warrants charging Rubio once he is released from CAMC General where he remains in ICU today .
The investigation of the crash is continuing by the Boone County Sheriff's Department and the lead investigator is Sgt. D.R. Browning. Deputies are currently searching for a person whom they believe was a passenger in the truck driven by Hall, but left the scene after the crash.
Do you have a link for this?
Someone get a rope!
Not yet, it just came into my email box, but it should have a link later this evening,.
Lead paragraph is atrocious. Very sad event.
Probably 40% of the drivers on roads in Mexico do NOT carry a Mexican drivers license. Children often drive, I've never known anyone in 20 years to get a ticket for driving without a license, except maybe in the Northern States of Mexico where the law is applied and bribes are sometimes the exception.
Did you send this to Prez Bush?
check PMs to you regarding this pleeeze...thanks..
Who is the subject referred to as "Hall" at the end of the story? Perhaps another vehicle involved?
"...and didn't even have a valid drivers license even in Mexico."
For illegals, a drivers license is seen as an optional sort of deal:

I just read that my own self..I think it must be a mistake by the sheriff,,there wasnt anyone involved in the accident named Hall...that I know of.
You have to be sh!tt!^& me!
So if the sheriff didn't release that information, how do you know it?
Or is the last name of the DUI driver enough for ya?
The sheriff released the information, it came in a press release..I just cant explain the Hall name at the end of the last paragraph.
And I was at the accident...I photographed it
Yep, first offense, that is the sentence..
Just ask Jorge and the @ssholes in Washington........just doing the jobs Americans won't do.
The sheriff released the information in a different press release than the one above?
Can you post that one please?
Photographing an accident doesn't necessarily mean you know the details of the parties involved.
Don't be offended, but there needs to be a valid source. :-D
That is the press release verbatim.
I just cant explain why he had HALL at the end of the story.
It came in an email here in the last couple of hours.
I have a call into the sheriff to see who Hall was..but I suspect it was just a typo.
I also just looked through a copy of the accident report faxed to our office, and it doesnt mention anything about anyone named Hall therein, which leads me to believe it was an honest mistake.
