Socialism is best because under socialism. No one has to worry about being poor or starving to death. No one is poor, unemployed, discriminated, everyone is equal reguardless or race or creed. Today such ideas are condemned as evil. Any attempt to protest against slavery and genocide and human rights violations are met with the cries of COMMUNISM! By the religious right and then they conjure up stories about Stalin, Gulags, tortue, police state etc. So therefore we must stick with the current system of sweat shop slavery, poverty and racism while rich people who already have all they will ever need in life continue to thrive off our blood sweat and tears.
CAPITALISM KILLS:
Amazing how they criticize socialism and incorrectly lump Socialism with communism especially when capitalism has murdered more people than any other ideology. One forgets how capitalism starves the poor, about how beggars are thrown in jail, how native indiginous populations are exterminated so the rich can make an extral million bucks! They dont mention about how they control and oppress the people and how the masses are enslaved 48 hours a day in big factories so the rich can make money. They dont talk about women being abused and mistreated and discriminated. The Ku Klux Klan were Capitalists, the Nazis were capitalists, Augusto Pinochet was a capitalist, Ronald Reagan, Pol Pot, Queen Victoria, Columbus, George Bush, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Pat Buchanan, the pope, Osama Bin Laden and the terrorists they are all capitalists. Why dont we scream about the ills of their "system" of whatever!
COMMUNISM VS SOCIALISM
There is a big difference between socialism and communism. Communism is where the state controls everything. This is very similar to capitalism. The state controls the lives and destinies of everyone. Under socialism, everyone controls everything and everything belongs to everyone. We dont need to worry about stealing or going hungry or any of that stuff.
You might say, but hey! Who is going to have to work and whats the incentive for work?
Well of course that is somthing else but not to worry! Everyone will be working rich and poor. The workers however will decide everything and we can let the filthy stinkin rich worry wome other time. Everyone will have a job and be paid lots of money. I propose a minimum wage of $20.00 an hour for all workers. A maximum hour work week of 30 hours in a 8 day work week. Every company must hire unemployed workers reguardless of age sex race creed or education and we should also have an education system run by the people who will decide as a whole what to learn and if all else fails, we should can the rich and redistribute their weatlh. dont worry. They have plenty more where that comes from ;) YES! SOCIALISM! IT IS THE BESTEST GOVERNMENT EVER! I CANT WAIT! VIVA LA REVOLUTION!
Uh-oh... my jokes aren't working tonight....
Nevermind...
It might be me. I'm multitasking too heavily right now. Keeping up with the UT, servicing the Trad-Anglican ping list, ripping one LP to make a CD, and transferring another such CD to the MP3 player... I've got 4 computers fired up for these operations...
Ok, how is the music ripping going? I'm looking for some gizmo to rip audio tapes, I guess a CD/MP3/Tape combi might do for that.
You must have given them a stirring pep talk.
Damn... I don't think tonight is a good night for puns!!
So far, so good. What are you ripping to? It can be done with just a computer, the tape player (and some software).
No. They just saw what happened to the last one that failed me. Terminated it, I did...
Well, I want to rip to a CD and computer - I notice that while you can get DVD recorders/players, they seem to have bypassed the notion on CD players - they just went straight to MP3 or i-pod. Of course, such combis aren't expensive, so I might get one of those.
I hooked the stereo Line Out to the sound card Line In, and installed Audacity (free open-source). It took a bit of study and experimentation to learn what settings to use. The biggest part of the job now is going through the recording identifying and labeling the start of each track and deleting "dead time." Once done, I just let Audacity produce the labeled .WAV files. Then I burn those to "audio CD" (with another trick so the MP3 software thinks this is a CD registered in a central database, so I don't have to type in the track names again). Then I'm done...
That's good!
Puns can be used on any day that ends in Y.
One often hears this rule quoted by those who have been victimized by a particularly outrageous pun ... They say, "Why, why, why?"
Found it takes about 15 minutes to go through the recording and do all the aforementioned operations on it. Audacity is now splitting the track into multiple WAVs -- it takes a little time.
I got it!
Heh, heh, heh.
Hi everyone!
I wonder if I'll ever get to a point where I can use my Audacity. I have one computer and that program. Period. Lots of CDs some LPs and some cassettes.
(Amd don't get too technical in your explanations as I'll be totally lost and way too intimidated to experiment.)
Hi, fanfan! I still don't...
Hi, Fan!
I suppose it's worth it in the end!
hehehehe!!!
Howya fan!!
I could write up the directions, but the risk is that any deviation could get one lost. Setting the labels seems a bit tricky, but it may be because of my remote desktop access (it's a little slow).
Having the LPs I haven't listened to in years (in boxes in the basement, actually) burned to CD and in MP3 player...? Yes!
