Schnitt just announced the breaking news. The DNA for JM Karr is NOT a match for Jon Benet evidence.
For crying out loud. Most of us deliberately turned off this case after the first nonstop coverage but it was stated ON TV on more than one occasion because I heard it myself..."that any place is better than a Thai prison".
So if that's incorrect fine--but we did hear it reported in the beginning and after that turned it off. Sorry we are not all as up to the details as some experts here.

It has been reported that DA Mary Lacy was spotted at the bus station buying an out of town ticket.
"But I have to wonder why his lawyer was so eager to suppress the DNA swab taken in Thailand."
Perhaps the reason Karr knew so much, and had numerous conversations with Mrs. Ramsey was because he was getting the information from the real killer.
He said he was 'with her when she died', and he meant he had become familiarized with the scene over the years enough that he 'felt' like he was there.
Maybe the DNA swab taken in Thailand wasn't really his. Maybe he got it from the real killer. Or maybe he had (sorry for the mental picture here) intimate relations with the real killer and was worried that would show up and convict him (if his plan was to get back to the US for sex change surgery).
My first thoughts (when Jon Benet died) were that the older boy did it.
All of momma's time and money spent on Jon Benet.
Momma knew who did it but couldn't let her son go to jail.
So she hoped someone else would be blamed or the case go unsolved.
If some of Mr. Ramsey's business partners in Thailand had the 'goods' on Mr. Ramsey, they could have used the older son as part of their plan.
Maybe Mrs. Ramsey's conversations with Karr were attempts to keep the 'family secret' a secret.
Anyway, these are just some of my ideas, food for thought, and have no more credence than anything else.
That initial incorrect report has been corrected time and time and time again.
But for some reason, people choose not to read further and be enlightened.
In some cases, they forego the reading for snarking at those of us who do read further.
Sorta makes me want to let the misapprehensions linger.
The pressure by the Ramsey's, the threats of lawsuits, etc. has had it's intended consequences.

If so where did you get this information?
You mean the same DA who quoted the main POI as the maven of good ethics at her press conference?

The fricking D.A. said that! The person who PROSECUTES the case - "he might not be guilty."

No. I also didn't believe the stories that Jon Benet's mom knew the truth before she died. Obviously someone lied to her :(
Check her ticket. It probably says Durham, N.C.
LOL...just loved that so called expert. He'd been reprimanded in other cases, he admitted the people in his office did not agree with him, but there he was.....getting fact time on TV. No different than the rest of the media whores, IMO.
You can get KHOW, which has the best coverage, on the 'net.

If you will all recall, at the beginning of the KARR fiasco it was reported by this D.A./Staff that they had evidence proving John M. Karr knew things about this case that ONLY THE KILLER could know, things about Jonbenets' body. What were those THINGS Mary? You got some splainin ta do.
You're a disgrace Mary Lacey and you should resign your position.
