Happy 3rd Anniversary Dragonflies' Lair and Poets
Our Poets

We the poets of the Lair, thank all who support us.
We hope to be here a long time, singing our songs riding the stars, writing our own visions, and best of all, loving all who continue to lurk and visit here over the years.
We write of love, we write of war, we write of sorrow, we write of Knights and Kingdoms from before, we write of drawing down the moon, scarlet robes, and gossamer, kismet, serendipity, serenity, and days of grace, filled with woodsy space ancestors wrinkled ragged and bold horror stories from our own past hauntings from the bog with screaming banshee voices on the wind and of the wind loud and sassy tinkling brass, silvered nights with star strewn paths. We write songs of happiness, songs of grief songs of anger and relief.
Our poets take pictures along their walk post them here for all of us to gawk and ohh and aw about the mystery of another land.
With all of life's hard times, pushes and shoves we poets remain above the fray to write in the sunlight of another new day, and take a chance on a little romance in The Land of Glen Gaul Way. And know that in the dead of night, WayzataJohnn will be stopping by to steam up the Lair with a senusous poem, or tell a hair raising tale from his life as an Navy Vet, a Cowboy, a Husband, and best of all a very good friend of all of us here.

From another life and another time.
Night Patrol in Indian Country
Dark the night and dark the soul
slipping soft through shadows there
seeking in stilted silent stalk
the secrets hidden with care
Such is night and such is war
and so it has always been
the subtle silent soldiers task
to recon behind the lines now and then
Alone in darkness, alone with fear
still it must be done if to win
and so soundless struggle of mind
amid the savage nights silent din
Back before dawn, back before found
whispers spoken to tell the tale
and plans are changed as needs be
and another chance to fail
Intense the life, intense the stress
a different sort of man is forged
one who seeks the darkest place
where demons wait to gorge

A trip into the memory of a solider.
Oooo, the last stanza is chilling.

kind of wild justice, which the more man's
nature runs to, the more ought law to weed
it out."

Looking for tail? Seahorses, famed for their fidelity, are being put to the test by Britain's National Sea Life Centre. Tiny color-coded necklaces and logs of their mating behavior will help scientists determine if they actually live up to their reputation.
Talk about too much time on their hands....

Jungle gym: Jambo mauls a new bungee ball in his pride's refurbished enclosure at Sydney's Taronga Zoo. The exhibit now more closely resembles the natural habitat of the African savannah -- except for the cat toys.

Timberrr! Constable Mike Smith drops like a felled sapling after being zapped with a Taser gun by Sgt. Darrin Putt during a demonstration at Police College in Wellington, New Zealand. Officers plan to start using the nonlethal weapon Friday.
That should get their attention!
