With Iran and North Korea becoming nuclear powers. We are running out of time. It is decision time very soon.
this is my opinion of what needs to happen. Correct me where I am ignorant.
it is time to
1. Reinstate a large scale draft
2. Re position troops in Iraq and issue "fallout warnings".
3. I know the President likely has an updated siop plan in his desk or on it. I personally believe that there are plans for some type of Nuclear strike.
4. Do the plan. Nuke the government out..disconnect Teran from the rest of the country. and pound the hell out of the supposed nuke sites across the county of Iran. Limited ground troops. Let China and Russia come in and do whatever they want with the oil.
5. Build up troops along the South Korean/N Korean border. Start a large scale air attack on North Korea, take out their Nuke sites. Wait and see if the North invades the south. If they do, they are in for a hell of a fight. We are talking Korean war pt 2 with a different set up and higher stakes
6. Issue Nuclear warnings in the United States. through out all of this we are under the threat of a nuclear attack from ANY direction.
7. Release all of the oil reserves, Be prepared for 5 to 10+ dollar gas and a stock market slide. state of emergency in every state. Marshall law at times if needed.
8. Put nation on high alert of chemical, biological warfare and suicide bombers with the following.
8. Have a massive build up of ally troops on bases in Europe. Have some force on the ground protecting Israel.
WW3, yes. This may take 5 or 10 years to win. but our children and grandchildren are worth it.

If you actually owned some nukes you could do something. But, if you did own some you wouldn't be cheerleading on FR about it.
Even some conservatives are being DOVES on the Iran issue. It is shocking. People do not see how truly serious this situation is becoming.

In order to do what you laid out, we'd have to draft 50% of the entire population between 18 and 30. Who would be left to pay into the social security fund? The population growth would certainly take a sharp decline. (sarc)

We have enough military power to destroy the world 4 times, and people underestimate our military. say we cant handle things when in reality, we just dont want to take care of business.
It is possible all this will be resolved as some state of mexican standoff. We ought to let our leaders try.
So does Russia. So does France. That is hardly the route a good leadership would choose if there were any options.
I am sorry, I just dont think there is any way to reason with terrorist states.

Just take a walk down to your local 7/11 .. stare intently into the eyes of the people working there and inform them that you are watching them ... and walk away.

There are some basics to running a state. Any kind of state. Any kind of state that has periodic popular elections will be somewhat constrained. Even Nazi Germany was constrained at first until what s'name became total Dictator. Iran's Iammadjohn is going to be there only for a while, and since the 12th immam thing didn't happen a couple days ago they are back to reality.
yeah, lets try another ground war. urban warfare is a better option. the Democrats whine, get power at some point, we leave wherever we are after losing thousands... and Iran still has nukes and terrorists are not defeated.

I dont know if any of you listened to Rush awhile back when he said, this is a "religious war" and people not want to face the facts because in a "religious war" there is no way out but go all the way. no side is going to give in.

If the U.S. nuked as many times as you suggest in your post, we wouldn't have to be hit by a nuke. The radiactive fallout would cover the U.S. in about 48 hours from the other side of the globe.
Nuking anyone, any where, is not something we should ever do preemptively.
So, you're next question? "You mean wait till we're hit?"
Of course not. Once a nuke leaves a silo anywhere on the planet, then we do the dirty deed. It will never hit our soil. But, I repeat, the fall out will.
