Get your popcorn and grab your nuts. Get your beer and reach for your mutton. Whip up some chocolate moose and slice up the head cheese. Yes folks, time to find the remote and hit the TiVo button because it's movie time at the OFST!!
Some of the worst movies and/or movie titles ever released will be playing here for our collective amusements.

Did you hear about the red ship and the blue ship that collided?
Both crews were marooned.

A man walks into a bar with a roll of tarmac under his arm and says "Pint please, and one for the road."

I bought a circus and got a fair deal.
I ran into problems right away: the truck driver refused to tow the lion; the lion ate a clown but it tasted funny; and there was a huge fire and the heat was in tents.
The human cannonball got fired. It was hard to find another of the same caliber.

Well, in addition to it's technical inanity, it's got the whole Xenu/Thetans/Scientology thing attached. If it were sold as pure science fiction, perhaps, maybe, and even then a poor representation of sci-fi. Plus it was like Travolta's own variation of Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ in that for Travolta this poorly made sci-fi is part of a scientology belief system, or so I've read.

is that you dad?
my father maintains that that was the worst thing star trek ever did.
there were a couple things that made it worth it..
spock philosphizing over the lyrics of row, row, row your boat, and later singing it. also uhura doing a feather dance was nice.

Some people like it on Saltines, too!

I hear it stems from Osamu Tezuka (who is famous in the West for Astro Boy).
But I've seen plenty of cartoons (before and after Astro Boy) by Tezuka that don't look like mainstream japanimation so I have no idea.
There are lots of legends among Japanese cartoon fans that don't hold much truth.

One of the cuts was a bizarre, almost psychedelic piece (purely the words, not the music) of King Friday replacing the words to row row row your boat with much longer words that meant roughly the same thing.
