BANGKOK, Thailand - The American suspect in the killing of JonBenet Ramsey told investigators that he drugged and had sex with the 6-year-old beauty queen before accidentally killing her, a senior Thai police officer said Thursday.
An autopsy on Ramsey said a blood screening showed no drugs or alcohol in her body but said she had vaginal abrasions.
Lt. Gen. Suwat Tumrongsiskul, head of Thailand's immigration police, said by telephone that he was not present for the questioning, which was conducted by U.S. law enforcement officials.
But, according to what the general said he was told of the questioning, the suspect, John Mark Karr, "said he drugged the child." Suwat did not say who briefed him on the questioning.
Karr claimed he had sex with Ramsey, who was still alive, Suwat said. Karr said he then realized he had "accidentally" killed her, according to the general.
A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy said it had no information about Karr's alleged actions or what he said to questioners. U.S. and Colorado law enforcement officials were unavailable for comment.
Not if he's trying to convince anybody that he did it.

I think I'll just take a back seat and watch the dog and pony show play out. It's too exhausting trying to keep up with all the gossip these reporters are spreading, before they check out their sources.

Wood also seemed to intimate that Karr had been sending cryptic letters to Patsy but that doesn't prove guilt or innocense to me. I'll bet the Ramseys got a ton of mail from cranks all over the world.

Wrong. Autopsy states death was caused by ligature strangulation. Fractured skull was post mortem and not even discovered until they removed the skull cap during autopsy. Because she was already dead when her skull was fractured, her heart had stopped beating and there was no bleeding from the massive fracture.
The latest I read (from AP) says they did a mouth swab for DNA on Karr yesterday and will get more samples once he returns to the U.S. That tells me that the "DNA match" report from yesterday is at best premature. Why test the guy twice more if you already have a match?
I think the prof tipped off the police. The police found him in a foreign country, considered him elusive and a flight risk (he skipped the kiddie porn sentencing in Cali) and swooped in while they had the chance - not because they had solid evidence to convict but because the opportunity was there to get him at that time. Only now can they start building a case against Karr.

Thanks for replying to all the false statements on here with the facts. I can tell you have studied this case thoroughly, and have a good grasp of the facts.
There is so much misinformation and disinformation whirling around about this case today, it's giving me a headache.
I don't have the patience to answer all the erroneous remarks.
Just glad there is someone here with the facts, and with the patience to correct all the misconceptions.
If you bothered to read what I actually wrote here and and here, you'd see that I never suggested that. What I theorized is little different than what post #114, and post #173 have also suggested. Karr may prove to be a crackpot, and I'd still hold to my theory.
Did he also confess to being the Black Dahlia killer?
For what it's worth, I think that Karr is an Aids addled, 24 carat fraud. I will be stunned if the dna matches. But, I still firmly believe this was a brutal, horrific sexual homicide that the Ramsey family had absolutely NOTHING to do with.
IMO Once to produce a match and again for the court evidence so there will be no chance of contamination or question of authenticity.
