JonBenet Ramsey D.A.: More Work Needed
ASSOCIATED PRESS
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - The district attorney in the JonBenet Ramsey slaying says there is "much more work" to be done in the case against the suspect and she is warning the public not to "jump to conclusions."

The international work to get this guy? Hello? Do you not know that he was e-mailing Patsy Ramsey about this case? She made some phone calls to authorities before she died and they did what they were supposed to do.
His resume even creeps me out.
Nifong isn't going to get a conviction in that case. He has zero evidence.
What I think people need to realize is the following:
The guy is a pedophile.
The guy is obsessed with the murders of young girls.
The guy purposely takes jobs that put himself near children.
Put those three together and you have a deadly combination. Does that mean he killed JonBenet? No. But it does mean that it's good that they caught this guy when they did regardless of his guilt in one particular case, because if he hasn't already killed, he's very likely to do so in the near future.
It sickens me that his family is treating him like a saint when we already know so much about his past. (The child porn found on his computer, the revocation of his teaching credentials in more than one state, what he did overseas, etc.)
"He was not facing jail in Thailand"
Yep, I've been set straight. ;) That's a good thing about FR.
I'm sure there's some shrink who will say he was having delusions....like the Jodi Foster delusion and what's his name that shot Reagan.
One interesting theory is that he cleverly made this confession in order to get out of Thailand and a possibly lengthy stay in the hell of a Thai jail. Then he gets off and manages to stay in the US.

Yup, it took a lot if international cooperation to actually get the guy which is why she was thanking so many people not from this country. Knowing the rough geographical area where he is doesn't mean jack, especially when it's in a foreign country. You have to work with foreign police and investigators to track down exactly where the guy is and to apprehend him. That's not an easy task. Contrary to initial reports, he wasn't just sitting in some cell waiting to be captured. The guy at the very least is a pedophile, so kudos to the Thailand law enforcement for assisting with his capture.
Weren't the Ramsey's having some type of restoration or construction work done to thier house in 1996? This could be a possible connection -- he may have done some consulting or subcontracting for the firm doing that work. The Ramsey's may have never met him face to face, but he may have had access to blueprints etc, and also have seen pictures of JonBenet, etc. etc.
he IDed himself - he was emailing people about the case.
What parents in their right minds would hire this goofy character to take care of their children? Many parents won't hire male babysitters or nannies at all.
Based on what evidence or motive? Just wondering not arguing.
Sure, but if it didn't apply here, why did she go out of her way to bring it up? She went out of her way to say that this arrest may have been made before an inveswtigation warranted it (because of public safety or a flight risk).
If the arrest wasn't made based on solid evidence, but on weak evidence plus safety or flight risk, I don't know why she would have bothered to suggest that the arrest wasn't based on solid evidence (though I agree it's possible).
I know he wasn't sitting in a cell; it's not like authorities got him on their own and through lots of legwork. They got him because he made the stupid mistake of e-mailing Patsy Ramsey. He was in Thailand under his own name and wasn't difficult to find or trace.
Thailand is practically pedophilia central and they wouldn't have done squat to him if the US hadn't wanted him on a potential murder charge or if he hadn't been convicted in abstentia on the 2001 child pornography matter.
my prediction, based on what we know so far - he goes down for the California charges, and he remains an "un-indicted conspirator" for the JBR case - that allows both the Boulder DA and the Ramsey family to make the claim that the case is closed.
