Just breaking on KUSA-TV in Denver that the suspect arrested today in the case matches the DNA at the crime scene. Nothing on the web yet...
The police were in the house when the Jon Benet's body was found. Also, If I knew they were planning to railroad me, I'd call a lawyer.
Wrong, Boulder hired a former Denver cop as their consultant, his name is Tom Haney
Yes, but was that right away? I had always heard that at first they implied to Denver that they didn't need their help.
I would call my lawyer immediately.
I would not have said this six month ago before I started following the Durham rape hoax thread. If I've learned anything from that case it's that you should never ever say anything to the police.
Anyone who disagrees should read the Duke Lacrosse fiasco threads. The Duke kids cooperated fully, gave dna samples, even had their pictures taken with their shirts off. Even after they finally got lawyers the DA's office tried to by-pass them.
Bottom line: Don't say one word without your lawyer there.
Calling Mark Geragos!
Mark Geragos...you looking for work?
Which parent, John or Patsy, raped the girl with the butt end of the paint brush and why was that necessary?
I'm anxious to hear your explanation.
The proof is not in the pudding if what this guy's family says is true, and he wasn't near Boulder during Christmas of 1996.
Guess we'll see soon enough.
They just put him in jail yesterday. This isn't CSI - we won't know anything today.
We'll see. DNA can be obtained in many ways, and given his child porn charges in CA, it might have been on file.
I don't get any inkling that that was occurring in their household. Given that the Ramsey's have southern ties, it likely would have/should have come up.
I share your sentiments, but I don't think any Freepers LITERALLY danced on Patsy Ramsey's grave. (That's my number one word usage peeve.)
There was a serial killer caught in TX in a similar fashion. The police suspected the guy, but didn't have enough evidence to arrest him. A couple of detectives followed him around for awhile, saw him drinking coffee, and put his cup in the trash (I believe it was). Got their DNA match.
Yes, it doesn't mean squat to have two family members to assert any alibi for him 10 years ago -- not unless/until they produce bulletproof documentation. Of course, the burden is on the prosecution to prove he had motive, means, and opportunity, but if his partial confession proves admissible (he said on worldwide TV that he was "with" JonBenet when she died) then that should be very weighty unless it could be proved that he is lying. Will he try to retract his confession once lawyers get to him, or will he maintain his guilt in what he claims was an "accidental" homicide?
so someone else paid for his plane ticket - whose name did he fly under?
The Ramsey attorney said they took DNA samples and results are NOT in yet.
All good questions. I still think he's saying this to get out of Thailand and he'll sing a different tune once he gets here. Or perhaps he'll plead an insanity defense ("We were in love"??? WTF?).
Maybe this guy has a trail and we just haven't found it yet. I have a difficult time believing he did all this, disappeared into thin air, then never again molested a child for 10 years.
At this point, they are expecting me to believe that this guy traveled across the country at Christmastime unbeknownst to his then wife sinply to see and molest a six-year-old girl he may have met while he was in Georgia but there's nothing yet to show that he knew her in Colorado whom he "accidentally" killed then came up with the idea of a rambling ransom note written from a pad within the home before vanishing back into the ether.
I'm also still curious if he can fit through the broken window that some claim an intruder entered/exited through. Karr seems a small man which makes it a bit more plausible but it didn't seem to me like a big space to get through.
Private Plane. (Corporate Plane) These people have MONEY...lots of it. I have SEVERAL friends who have private planes and they are ordinary people.
