Arrest in JonBenet Ramsey Case Expected "Shortly"

An arrest in the JonBenet Ramsey case is due to happen "shortly," according to sources in our newsroom -- I know I can't post the link to our site (we're a Gannett station, and despite the "ban", I would welcome the traffic), but most of you know where I work and what the site is...

According to our sister station in Denver, an arrest took place early this morning in Thailand.

The Boulder DA mentioned that Karr lived in Colorado in her statement. However I can not find written confirmation of that.

Also breaking: one of the reporters at KOA radio, along with someone from law enforcement, did a search for John Mark Karr in the sex abusers database. They weren't able to find anything, which is a bit odd.

Quite apart from the all the unseemly jousting for moral advantage, this is a fascinating development in a difficult case.

That is exactly what I always suspected. Some pedophile had a relationship with Patsy, just to be able to get to the real target, Jon Benet. Patsy wouldn't want to divulge all that she knew because it would mean she would have to come clean about the "affair."

Now is not to a good time to start a rumor involving a dead woman and the guy they just caught who most likely murdered her child. Rumors on the 'net get taken as the gospel truth.

IIRC, there WAS sign of forced entry through a basement window they found broken, and the reason no footprints were found in that area was because the snow had already melted when they finally got around to checking it.

With regard to this case, I've been following it from the very beginning and most of you know my thoughts from the many comments I have made. I have always believed it was a sexual predator who killed Jonbenet. I hope they have found him. I am still STUNNED by some of the comments people make regarding this case. It isnt that difficult a case. Just look at the evidence and the autopsy report.

Not me, 'cause I've never expressed an opinion on the case to anyone, ever!! I didn't even follow it enough to have an opinion, beyond hoping that the investigation would finally reach a decisive result with punishment for the perp.

But there comes a time they need to seriously look elsewhere. Instead of looking elsewhere, this is what we heard:

"Could not exclude Patsy as writing that note....."

That doesn't prove anything, people can fake

JonBenet had a bedwetting problem.
Patsy must have gone onto a fit of rage and beat her to death?

Of course the authorities start close to home. In this case, minds were made up and the Ramseys have been put through a double hell for 10 years.

I remember the nastiness as clear as if it was yesterday.

Lou Smits (?sp) went from being a really great detective to one on the fringe when his opinion changed.

Not many people were willing to consider other suspects.

I have a photographic memory that is out of film. I think that is the same name of the one they termed a drifter.....staying across the street that night or the week before. If he was staying with the neighbors he probably would have had dinner with them and would have heard a conversation about the 118,000.00. Someone without funds would be jealous and remember that exact amount.
