I think one reason Democrats make fun of us is because red states often have reputation for less people with advanced education degrees.

We have to counter this misperception...

How does a degree make you a smarter person? When Masters in Music are lining up at the unemployment line?

New York is where dumb young people go to find out you can make 6 figures and still live near the poverty line.

Too many intentional errors and clunky wordings in that first sentence (who in the world would say "advanced education degrees"?).

an educated man = a liberal who's a little less clever than he thinks he is

Y'aint foolin us.

having everybody get a college degree and even advanced degrees is NOT a great idea.....

while a thriving society needs some educated people to design and build and create it needs far, far more people to clean, to fix, to deliver, to make, to sew, to cook, to pick up the trash....

only so few can be really rich, a few more can be rich, and more still can be well-off.....

but most people will never be rich......that is simply a fact of life....

an educated populace might be a more civilized population, but better off monetarily?.....hardly.........only so many can sit on top of the roost.....

so a city with a large proportion of college educated people is going to find that a good proportion of those gradutes are driving taxi and the like.....

NYC may be an interesting place to visit, but I would never want to live there. The people, the traffic and the noise would drive me nuts. I don't know how big NYC is area-wise, but the population density is crazy. I live in a borough larger than the state of West Virginia, which I have to share with about 70,000 other people. That's a population density of about three people per square mile. Although I live in a city, lot sizes are still an acre or larger. I have a brand new 2400 sq ft house on a nicely wooded lot that is affordable. I can commute to work without seeing hardly any other traffic. My airplane is just a few minutes away. We do have nice restaurants here. I can carry a concealed weapon without any permit...try that in NYC, which has far more thugs than my town does. I get to breathe clean air and drink clean water. As for boredom, I never have to worry about that. There's always plenty of things to do like flying anywhere I want to, riding my motorcycle, boating, snow machining, four wheeling, just to mention a few things. NYC...you can have it. I'm staying right here in my own little piece of heaven.

You will learn that new members to Free Republic are not taken seriously and are viewed with justifiable suspicion.

You're a troll. There's nothing special about that, many sign on each day. Just don't think you're fooling anyone.
