NYC may be an interesting place to visit, but I would never want to live there. The people, the traffic and the noise would drive me nuts. I don't know how big NYC is area-wise, but the population density is crazy. I live in a borough larger than the state of West Virginia, which I have to share with about 70,000 other people. That's a population density of about three people per square mile. Although I live in a city, lot sizes are still an acre or larger. I have a brand new 2400 sq ft house on a nicely wooded lot that is affordable. I can commute to work without seeing hardly any other traffic. My airplane is just a few minutes away. We do have nice restaurants here. I can carry a concealed weapon without any permit...try that in NYC, which has far more thugs than my town does. I get to breathe clean air and drink clean water. As for boredom, I never have to worry about that. There's always plenty of things to do like flying anywhere I want to, riding my motorcycle, boating, snow machining, four wheeling, just to mention a few things. NYC...you can have it. I'm staying right here in my own little piece of heaven.

People come to NYC for very specific reasons -- work is one of them. If you're good at your job, then you want to compete against the best people in the world.
