Actually, that sort of gets my goat, too (opening a new line and not ensuring the next longest waiting customer can order).
You would think MacDonalds, which invested millions to take 20 seconds off of car waiting times, would invest a few bucks to clean up their stupid non-queues.

I wonder how one can strike someone with the side of a vehicle??? I doubt the car was skidding sideways as serious injuries would have occurred.Cars don't turn in perfect circles. Pull up straight, right next to a post, then turn the wheels hard in the direction of the post, and see if you don't get a post-shaped dent in the side of your car.

A part of one of the courses I took in college was about queuing theory. It really exists, and once you've been exposed to it, a *lot* of retail lines are *real* stupid.

As a side note, at least banks and supermarkets make SOME (small) attempt at Queue Management -- MacD's doesn't even try.
