Germans peel off for lensman Tunick
From correspondents in Berlin, Germany
August 07, 2006 02:42am
Article from: Agence France-Presse
US photographer Spencer Tunick, famous for snapping his subjects in their birthday suits, struck again in Duesseldorf in western Germany, where more than 800 people bared all for his art.
For five hours 840 people, some of whom had come from as far away as Brazil, posed nude in a variety of attitudes - in a pyramid, arms in the air, bending down or crowding round a tree.
Or, in the case of the 50 most comely, in front of a Rubens.
"For me, bodies mean freedom and beauty," said Tunick who has conducted similar exercises in places that include Barcelona in Spain, Bruges in Belgium, Lyon in France and Mexico.
Participation is voluntary and undertaken, it is said, for the love of art.

Is that Helen Thomas in the upper right of the photo?
Unnngh.
I think this guy is some kind of perv and his subjects get off on it too.
When it comes right down to it, there are really very few people who look attractive when they are naked. It seems counter-intuitive at first, but just look at some of these pix.
Just because you don't understand art, doesn't make it perverted.
What part of this is sexual?
Does it turn you on?
Maybe you are the perv?
Instead of doing Tunick most of them should be wearing one...
Maybe I am!
From my days in the Englisch Garten in Munich, I know Germans love to get naked.
That photo reminds me of the description of what the keepers of Auschwitz would have found in the gas chambers after the screaming had stopped and they had to start the cleanup for the next gassing. They found the bodies tended to pile up in a big heap in the middle of the room.
That's me doing the "fountain".
ROTFL! Great taglines;)
Where oh where do you find this stuff?
Anyone who finds "art" ir even "humor" in this degradation of human bodies is as sick as the photographer and the participants.
Leni
And anyone who fails to discern the difference between those voluntarily subjecting themselves to dubious art projects as opposed to innocent victims of the Holocaust is a stuffy prig.
Hey, this self-righteous stuff is easy!
I hope you used deodorant today!
