"The parents were beaming as they proudly watched their little girls act like sex-starved seducers! It was the most disgusting display I have ever seen. To this day, it makes me sick to think about it. Call me politically incorrect but those Mexican parents made us sick!!!!!"

OK, you're politically incorrect. A title you should wear with pride.

I think you're on point, but this is not a phenomenon restricted to the hispanic population.

Amen!! I saw a mother with two young children and she had on a Itty Bitty MINI SKIRT!!! I don't care how young the moms are, they should change their way of dressing to something more maternal looking.....it's called setting an example.

I'm inclined to think it was the son. Easy to see him maybe not getting his way about something, then just losing it and taking it out on his PrimaDonna sister.

Mom and Dad of course would try to cover it up.

That's true and I did things behind my mother's back also. The thing is, I knew it was wrong and that she would not approve. She was raising me right, even though I was rebellious at the time. I guess I listened because I remember. I guess I learned because now I'm my mother (groan).

We know a Mexican family (probably parents are illegal) where the daughter was pregnant at 15. I went to the little boy's first birthday party and the then 16 year old mom was going to get their pictures done beforehand and wearing an extremely revealing dress. I was really shocked at the dress and felt a little embarrassed. Well one of her younger sisters used to play with my oldest son even though she was a couple of years older. Well we hadn't seen her for awhile one time, and I couldn't believe how she had changed from a 9/10 year old little girl to a developing way too rapidly 11 year old. Now she can't do anything about her very fast developing breasts, but her parents could do something about the way she was revealing them. It was a shock. Unfortunately, I see her going the way of her sister--pregnant at 15 if not before. The oldest sister is now 17 and expecting #2.

I see it just the way you do. Her brother because of sibling jealousy, abused and murdered the girl. The parents knew it and protected him and in doing so, made themselves appear guilty. I know he was under 10 at the time. I wonder where he is today. I think they sent him out of the country to school at the time.

On the subject of dressing their baby daughter like a hooker and letting her perform on stage, they are guilt of that. That was an outrage!

Amen...school uniforms are great. Helps the weaker parents say no to their kids easier also.

Welcome to FreeRepublic...nice of you to drop by.

So - you are saying that the scenarios described in the article are A-OK?

I don't see anywhere in the article or replies that anyone is saying what you said. Only that dressing little girls like sluts is a bad idea.

But your response that pokes fun at people who think that dressing little girls as prostitutes is a bad idea - reeks of one who enjoys little girls dressed that way....

I would think it better to homeschool instead, thus avoiding the issue of what can and cannot be worn to school.

Better control over teen angst and petulance; one of the many reasons why homeschooling makes sense.

I'm (very) sad to say I know more then a few moms who believe that their "little girls" should be free to express themselves as indiviuals and refuse to notice that they do so by dressing up as hookers.

If a kid is in grade school and wearing makeup, and thongs, and its a pattern, that isn't personal self expression, its an attempt to fit into something that is seriously wrong.

I want to blame something, but I know its more of a problem with parents being permissive, and letting their children become bullseyes and then blaming society.

Out of curiosity, I put in my zip code; rather sobering to find a marker for a sex-offender just two short blocks from the local elementary school!

"I say we take it one step further, lets cover them head to toe and not allow them outside without our permission. We all know that wearing skimpy clothing and makeup is just asking to be raped or abused...lets make it illegal!"

The sarcasm is neither appreciated nor called for. No one here has suggested that women or girls be clad in burkhas.

Given your newness to the site as well as your exhibited attitude, my first inclination is to dismiss you as a common DU troll. But hope springs eternal, so maybe you'll read on and learn.

Welcome to FR.

One thing I don't like is when I see little girls/and older girls with words written on the butt portion of their pants.

It's been at least 20 years ago that the cheerleaders at the University of South Carolina ("the Gamecocks") had the words "Go Cocks" on the butt part of their panties under those short skirts. As a college guy, it's easy to find that rather...em... cheeky, but as one gets older, you think "wonder what the parents thought of their little darling wearing that?".

Is is unheard of for either law enforcement or the judiciary to make a mistake? What if you are set up, having sexually assulted no one, and you are in for a mandatory term that might last for the rest of your life?

Applied logically, that is the arguement used against the death penalty, and pretty much any and every single sentence for first time offenders.

Its an arguement used quite often, to prevent all jail terms from being raised and to grant lower terms to first time offenders.

Keep in mind, that sexual offences have the highest recidivism rate of any crime.

Amen!

My 12 year old twin daughters were taught from an early age what 'age appropriate' clothing was. A two year old with her tummy hanging out is cute, but on a 10 year old, it's trashy.

Shopping for school clothes last year, I was amazed at the amount of clothing with words printed across the seat.

My daughters rapidly noticed it too. One of them even asked why they bothered printing anything other than 'Look At My Butt' across there, since that was what it meant.

:-)

So you're equating not sexualizing our pre-teen girls with some sort of Taliban-style oppression of women?

We're not talking burkas, brain-trust, we're talking about not letting them wear micro shorts and minis, tight baby-t shirts that say Porn Star or Tramp in pink glitter, shorts that say JUICY across the butt, etc.

Or do you not get the subtle nuance of that? (You should know all about nuance, aren't most libs complaining that we dunderheaded right wingers don't understand 'nuance')
