I'll be down your way on Monday. I'm taking my son and nephew on a tour of colleges. 10 days on the road. Yikes!

I heard one time on the internet that a person can get whale meat in Japan. Is that correct? If that is right, what does it taste like?

I'm up and checking to see if the world is still spinning. Lily, my Siamese cat, is waving a paw in my face, telling me not to go to work...I'm not. The six mini dachshunds are under the blankets, fast asleep. As soon as I eat anything, they'll wake up and demand half. If I'd had five Asahis, I'd be dead to the world...and I like Japan and donate to FR, too.

What a charming message. I see I'll be searching for your posts, hershey.

Not a big eater ...At my " local " I order an 8 piece set plus two extra pieces of kanpachi which is a kind of yellowtail . 10 pieces in all with a beer or glass of sake . Now and then I'll get some fresh ( straight from the in shop fishtank ) sashimi for an appetizer . The master at my local serves the usual sushi that you dip in soy sauce , but he also makes another which doesn'r require soy sauce . He places a beefsteak plant leaf between the fish and teh rice , sprinkles a little salt on it , and before one eats it one squeezes some lime on top and eats it that way . Yummy !

Holey moley, you are post number 40 and I'm trying to respond back to everyone nice enought to respond to my Vanity that some dweeb got bent out of shape about. There's like 120 posts now so I'm really connecting with the late night FReeper contingent. This is great.

I was in London in 1998 for a week and went to Stonehenge. Had my photo taken there and then sent the photo onto Jim Robertson at FR in Fresno. The young man actually responded back to me that he recieved the photo. Oddly enough, the message made my day.

I was in Girvan Scotland last November. My family is from Inverness way back when. Scotland in November: 40 degrees F and a low hanging cloud of moisture to accompany the four hours of sunlight.

I was hoping you were a sushi chief, so then I could fly to your establishment, and hit you up for the 'obligatory' 50 piece 'Fellow Freeper' complimentary dinner. :)

There are still shops in Japan that serve whale , but it's usually raw . Cooked it tastes very similar to steak .

Just hit the ground home in Miami after a week in Sao Paulo and Santiago.

I'm in Bahia in September! Then Paris for a week in October and then India and China in December. Mostly, I'm hitting the good weather times for the locales (I was in Tokyo in April and it was terrific. Cherry blossoms and everyone seemed to be falldown drunk.

Thank you. I'll have one of those if you please. I'm sitting at the Hilton Narita bar on wireless having those beers. This is after a pretty good day of sightseeing. It's like 7:35pm and I have to meet people for dinner at 7:45 so I have to ring off. But I'll answer every post when I check back later.

FReegards,

Wisconsin checking in. What am I doing up at this hour?

News travels slow around these parts, we're still waiting for Bush's election results (IMO, that Clinton clown doesn't stand a chance)

Whereever all you Freepers are, it's a brand new day, let's make it something special!
