Mel Gibson is a moron anti-Semite. No aspiring anti-Semite uses the "J-Word." That went out of fashion after World War II. Every one in the know says "Zionist," "The Elders", "The Lobby," "Neo-cons" or "Moneybags." But never "Jew." Every one still knows who you mean and you still have plausible deniability. You can explain you're a friend of Jews but hate this or that about them. Gibson must have forgotten that even bigots need to be politically correct. There is a genteel bigotry and an insufferable bigotry. Only a moron anti-Semite could be honest to the point of self-immolation.

Posting a slew of threads on this topic, huh?

The tip-off came when he denied being an anti-Semite in an interview with Diane Sawyer in the publicity run-up to "The Passion." This is known as the Richard Nixon "I am not a crook" principle: When you get to the point you have to declare your innocence on network television, you are probably guilty. Why didn't the author call this the Bubba "I didn't have sex with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky" principle? I might have bought his analogy.

Great article. Gallows humor is a specialty of ours. It has to be.
The rewards of fame are many. The downside is that fame can turn to infamy on a dime.
Mel Gibson obviously is a troubled man. In Hollywood the public persona rarely jibes with the private.

Gibson's Malibu breakdown not only confirmed that he's an anti-Semite, but also that he's a moron. The author is a moron as well, but who is counting?

Very good article. It's true that Foxman has a bug up his a$$ about Gibson, and its also true that Gibson really stepped in it this time. ..
BTW, don't you get the feeling that Gibson isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer? Although he knows how to make money in Hollywood, thats for sure.

The Fundamentalist Protestants who supported Mel to the hilt over
The Passion are about to learn a hard lesson here. They know next to nothing about chr*stian history since for them chr*stianity simply means "the Bible" and nothing else. They are totally ignorant of the history of chr*stian anti-Semitism because their Bible, the source of all their beliefs, is about the Jews. The unpleasant fact that "the two testaments" contradict each other on this subject doesn't phase them a bit.
American Fundamentalist Protestantism is absolutely unique. It is not historical chr*stianity at all (in fact, it is far superior). One can only hope that this (and the blatant anti-Semitism of the Middle Eastern chr*stians) will open their minds to at least consider the Jewish claims that chr*stianity is not the authentic "fulfillment" of Judaism. But I doubt it. Since their Bible says it is, they will continue to believe it, just as they will continue to love the Jews for the same reason.

BTW, Foxman is a moron as well (as Chafets implies). He is not only a living, breathing anti-Semitic stereotype, he is a liberal clown who is more worried about what a drunken Mel Gibson says to a cop than he is about what Hamas and Hizbullah are doing to Jews in Israel.
And speaking of Foxman's "Hollywood" as a euphemism for Jews, where is "Hebraic Hollywood" while Israel is being assaulted?
