I have a furry little calico slave whose job is to wake me up early on mornings I had intended to sleep in. I pay her in tuna.
I've heard the exact same words by Ted Kennedy, Dick Durbin, and Harry Reed, followed by "increasing the minimum wage...."
I'd gladly pay my dog if he'd clean up the yard after himself. As it stands now, he's justly compensated in Alpo.
Well I just fired my dogs but it doesn't look like they're going anywhere. One just went and jumped back up in the chair to lay in the sun and the other went to lay in front of the fan.
I have to assume they've chosen to volunteer.
Our cat makes a living by being available for the occasional roughing up and face snuggling when required by myself, my wife and daughter.
On most days, those duties do not typically exceed a total of 25-30 minutes, if that.
In exchange for providing said service, she gets room and board, guaranteed life-long employment, full medical coverage, use of recreational equipment, has the run of the house, and gets to sleep on the job.
