Hello,
Many of you know that FReeper Rebel_yell2 is stuck in his hotel in Beruit after the airstrikes. A request for any help or ideas on his situation was posted here.
Just wanted to start a thread specifically for jokes, chit-chat, etc. to help lift his spirits, and to keep the original thread more open in case he needs to reach anyone.
Cindy Crawford, Petra Nemcova and Kate Moss were walking through the desert. The sun's getting hotter and they realized they were going to get sunburned, so Cindy pulls a bottle of sun block out of her purse. Boba Fett, who's become a nomad in this desert, rides up on a motorcycle and offers to lend a hand. Sure, the girls say.
So he rubs down Cindy, then he rubs down Petra, and then he stops. Kate Moss takes her shirt off and says "My turn", and Boba Fett whips out his laser pistol and shoots her dead. Cindy and Petra scream "Why did you do that?" and Boba Fett goes "A Roving Clone slathers no Moss."
Still up?
Well, Patricia, that was WAY more than 30 minutes.
Oops. I went outside to read and smoke my stogie (it was stifling in here today) and then when I came in hubby and I conversed for a while.

Yup. No day off till Monday.
Stupid thing...remember when I said I had to go in 3 hours early and work the long shift because of vacations, and they were short-handed in the stock room?
Well, I got there, and they told me never mind. No truck came in today. They didn't need help in the stock room.
Still had to work the long shift, though.
Ah, crud.
Still, I got to do something kind of funny today.
What?!?!?!?!?!?!??!!
I'm so bored during my lunch break (except for the eating), and right after I do that I have to watch electronics, which is MORE boring. So I decided to make better use of my time.
I went to the back, found one of the notebooks we use, and a pencil lying around, and I drew a silly cartoon/caricature. It looks a lot like the FReeptoons. It shows my department head, Crystal, saying "Hello. My name is Crystal, and I'm mean to Loran (the other guy in my dept) and that stud-muffin Philip." Behind her is the A.M. over our dept, Darrin, screaming "Get back to work, Crystal!"
It's silly, but I took it over to her place and layed it in a way where it's the first thing she'll see when she gets in tomorrow.
Ummm...important question...will this be something she'll laugh at?
Yeah, it's a goofy-looking picture; not mean-spirited or anything.
Ray, another assistant manager, came by and looked at it while I was working on it. He laughed his head off...and I've really never seen him laugh hard before. He thought my picture of Darrin was hysterical.
Okay, just checking.
Putting on my Paranoia Tinfoil Hat for one moment…
The reason I ask is I've seen people get fired over misunderstandings that were supposed to be just a simple joke. If you think she'll take your caricature well, then you have nothing to worry about. I think.
You'll just have to trust me.

It's the trusting other people part I tend to have trouble with.
I think I've been working with overly-offended weirdos and freaks for too long now. Could have a lot to do with where I live.
Well, the three of us in department 6 joke around with each other all the time. It's kind of a running joke that we talk about how mean Crystal is to us, and then she says we're mean to her...that's why the cartoon is funny. The picture of Darrin helps to (because she gets aggravated with Darrin all the time).
Not only that, but even if she IS offended by it (low chance)...I really don't care. I'm not afraid.

I'm off to bed. I'm going to visit my sis tomorrow all day (she lives about 1 1/2 hours away), so I will be home late tomorrow night and freeping a little when I get home.
