The Dragonflies Lair~Thread XXIX

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Yes I did. That's a real artistic classic of the period. I kept thinking the lyric sheet must be three or four times longer than the score!

Oh, I meant to mention to you Manhattan Transfer is still preforming and still popular.

Excellent, I'll check them out on Amazon.com. It's funny but I've even bought books from Amazon here in Taiwan. Small world when even that stuff is just a click away, then the box shows up with Amazon.com emblazoned on the side.

You just have to pay through the nose if you don't want the slow (and sometimes unreliable) shipping. With globalization (and cell phones, and the Internet) it's getting hard to tell when you're "home" and when you're not!

Definitely making my stay in Asia this time around (as opposed to the first two-year visit 15 years ago) much more "familiar", and comfortable!

I know those shipping charges from Amazon.com are stiff here as well. I rarely order from them.

I saw Manhattan Transfer on the tube about one year ago. They sounded fabulous.

Here's a good laugh for you!

KILLER BISCUITS WANTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER

(actual AP headline)

Linda Burnett, 23, a resident of Knoxville, was visiting her in-laws
and while there went to a nearby supermarket to pick up some
groceries.

Several people noticed her sitting in her car with the windows
rolled up and with her eyes closed, with both hands behind the
back of her head.

One customer who had been at the store for a while became
concerned and walked over to the car. He noticed that Linda's
eyes were now open, and she looked very strange. He asked
her if she was okay, and Linda replied that she'd been shot in
the back of the head, and had been holdingher brains in for
over an hour.

The man called the paramedics, who broke into the car because
the doors were locked and Linda refused to remove her hands
from her head. When they finally got in, they found that Linda had
a wad of bread dough on the back of her head.

A Pillsbury biscuit canister had exploded from the heat, making a
loud noise that sounded like a gunshot, and the wad of dough hit
her in the back of her head. When she reached back to find out
what it was, she felt the dough and thought it was her brains. She
initially passed out, but quickly recovered and tried to hold her
brains in for over an hour until someone noticed and came to her aid.

Linda is a blonde, but I'm certain that's irrelevant.

Bloody hot! Maya and 18-month-old Euan cool off in their pool at Whipsnade Zoo as temperatures in southern England soared to 96.6 -- the highest on record for July.
