H
LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. Hundreds of people turned out yesterday in Orange County for an unusual ritual _ mooning trains. People ranging from motorcycle club members to a 70-year-old grandmother dropped their drawers to moon passing Amtrak trains at a fenced rail line in Laguna Niguel.
Nobody organized the event but by some estimates it drew as many as five-thousand people during the day.
The event began as a bet in a nearby bar nearly three decades ago.

Cool..... thanks for the picture. They look terribly dangerous. (sarcasm off)
Elyse in post # 15 is real bent out of shape over these fun-loving folks.

For some reason, I don't think this particular 70 year-old looks anything like Raquel Welch (although that certainly would get my attention if she did!)

I am serious. So when one of these people walk up to the bus stop and expose themself to your child or grandchild will you think it's all just fun?

Ah, yes, the annual "Moon the Amtrak" day. I attended once, and have a picture of my sister saying "howdy" to the train.
People ride the Amtrak on that day just to see the mooners. On the day I was there, the train slowed WAAAAY down and the conductor was leaning out the door with a camera.

I wonder how many would show up for an anti-illegal invasion of America rally? The trick is to provide beer at your rally.

I don't understand why people think this is funny and acceptable. I wonder how many perverts were in the crowd getting thier jollies from exposing themselves in public and picking out future targets from the children in the crowd. They all should have been arrested....... I am serious.......ROFL
Mooning, in this public humorous situation, has as much to do with "perverts" and "children as targets" as the Clintons have to do with good government and honesty. Get real.
Perhaps you should go to the park today and make sure a dog doesn't take a poop in front of one of your family members.

Tell that to Elyse of post #'s 15 and 26. She seems to think this is a threat to our society.

This story is hilarious. I LOVE mooning! For some reason it has always royally cracked me up.
We used to hang quite a few moons in my younger, wilder days. We delighted in posing for pictures hanging moons with prominent things behind us like the Washington Monument, Capitol Building, Independence Hall in Philly, etc.

Bad mistake, everybody knows that you are supposed to moon from the front not the side.

While eating at an outside table in a local seafood restaurant we've had boaters moon us. I've also been behind a bus before when someone onboard mooned us. The funny thing was there was a cop behind me and saw the whole thing and pulled the bus over. ** hahaha ** Laughed my butt off.

FWIW, several years ago & before they put up the chain link fence....I took a panoramic shot of the business side of the mooning.
I sent the photos to a quirky magazine in Japan (Focus) w/ summary of the festivities.
IIRC, they published the pics & story & sent me $200+
