Its time to celebrate our great nation's independence yet again. Hopefully we will all take a few moments to reflect on how far we have come since our country was founded, the freedoms we hold so dear, and how thankful we are to live in the land of the free.
What are some memorable 4th of July vacations or events that you have enjoyed?
Where are you planning on travelling, and what are you planning on doing for the 4th of July this year?

Hey!
I don't check in here often anymore but was very happy to see you hosting the thread! Are you a certified engineer these days or still going to classes?
My son is gone this weekend to be in a wedding, it appears many of his friends are getting married these past few months. I asked him about it, he said there were two waves of marriage, the first when he had just begun college. The second is now (they are about 25-27).

I wish i could change some of my dates! Yep, me too...like the date of my birth but what would you like to change about your dates?
To: ozarkgirl
Yes, I am a 'certified engineer' whether I'll be finishing my MSc is another question though! I won't be able to finish my research before my funding is up, so I would most likely have to start another project. The thought of starting another project, is rather overwhelming. I may just look for a job!

I may just look for a job! You get funding for school? Other than scholarships? You are in research of some sort? Your field of expertise? I know we've discussed before, but that was some time back. The kid is a mechanical engineer.

Same here--though I heard from Kate (ilovew) yesterday.
She's doing fine and having fun--though the two-week kids are leaving...
Still good to hear from her nonetheless though...8^)
Personally though, Haven't had a whole lot of time--been chasing around. Ran my dad up north to pick up his Chrysler minivan. The transmission went...:|

I receive a research stipend. I am in Materials/metallurgical engineering and my research was in NbC precipitation in micro-alloyed pipeline steels.
I could work on a Hydrogen storage project, but the thought of starting over.....
I was going to speak with a prof in the Mech. Eng department, regarding research in quality management systems. I always enjoyed that kind of work too.
We'll see!
