I hope your day improved from there. Mine was a whole lot of blahhhh.
Mine was pretty miserable. The work situation is getting pretty dire. It's crushing me and the stress is making my back freak out. I won't lay out details in the open forum. I've been spending a lot of time in physical therapy and investigating all of my employment options. Prayers for courage and discernment are welcome.
Back stress is NOT good. I'll keep you in my prayers for an improved situation, either there, or somewhere else!
Thanks, and I'll keep your family in my prayers, too.
Other than wishing to strangle Dragon Naturally Speaking (not for the first time in my techie life), it hasn't been too bad.
Except that my gas light came on halfway through the trip into work, and I have to spend a good portion of the evening back here rebooting servers.
So there's that. I'm thinking I may bring Cisco with me so I'm at least not alone.
Will pray.
I handed out the knives & carabineers you sent from the Hobbit Hole to 57 soldiers at Fort McCoy on Saturday.
They were really thrilled! In fact, we got there just in time to attend the after action review for a convoy training event. One of the gigs they received was that a towing strap got wrapped around an axle and no one in the disabled HUMMV or the recovery vehicle had a knife to cut it loose. The OCs had to loan them one.
Thanks again to your organization for your show of support!
I suspect nobody will be forgetting their Hobbit Hole knives after this incident. I also offered a couple of Camillus BK3s for tougher cutting, hacking, and prying jobs.
How fortuitous!
That's a good idea!! I used to take Gifford, our black lab, when OB was out of town and I would have to go into the office and work during the evening. He was as good as gold and his presence just seemed to make the work go faster. LSA
Maybe it'll help him a bit with some of his fears of the unknown, too.
But maybe I'd better bring a bottle of Resolve just in case...
*sigh*
Actually he's mostly pretty good. But I think something like a class would be good for him. He *loves* it when he figures out what I want when he's learning new things and is able to comply, and he'd like getting to meet other dogs and people.
I've been teaching him stupid pet tricks. ;-) Usually only takes a session or two, so it's hard to resist.
Stupid pet tricks are good. Gypsy is bright enough to learn, but she really doesn't care to, thank you very much. Most reserved dog I have ever run across....LSA
Unlike the dachshunds, Cisco really, really wants to be a good boy and do whatever I tell him to do. The only catch is that when he doesn't understand what I want, he kinda just folds in on himself and falls to pieces. It really shakes him up and it's hard to work through it once he's gotten to that stage.
Here we are at the Seattle Center. I don't know why it's so faded.
We visited the science center where Becky learned to float.
Ahem. Ramius' attempt to float left me laughing for obvious reasons.
The girls rode on a caterpillar. :-D
And saw BIG butterflies!
We decided to skip lunch at the science museum.
And took a seriously ~wrong~ turn.
So we decided to find a cool spot to rest.
And the girls were inspired by all that water.
~hand cupped over mouth laughing!~
I love them!
He's never going to forgive me for posting that picture, you know. ;-)
Am I looged on?
I actually looked at it twice before posting.
Dang, you beat us again, we only got about .4 inches, if that much. Everything still looks really dry, but the weatherweenies are saying maybe more rain Wednesday. We'll keep our fingers crossed. LSA
