whats wrong with zotting a troll?
Posted on 06/21/2006 12:42:18 PM PDT by digger121
I dont get it. I keep hearing from people that welfare is immoral and wasteful when it helps so many people who would die without it. I also hear some of them talking about giving money to charities such as the salvation army and the like. Everyone has a right to live, that means the right to freedom, a job, a car and a home. No one should be forced to live without any of those. I was homeless for a year before a went on welfare. They helped me get a job and a home and I dont need it anymore! How can you be against somthing thats so good and useful? WOuld you rather the poor just starve to death and die here in America like they do in Africa?

Ah, it's back for fun and games.
Went to post on it when the Mods pulled it to chew on it themselves.
Thanks guys.

Welfare is a hand out that is often abused. It is forced on the taxpayer who in turn has very little control over how it is managed. If it is mismanaged the taxpayer has no recource to correct it other than their one vote. One vote that can be cancelled by the welfare recipient I might add.
And, why would someone want to work two jobs if they can stay at home, drink beer all day, get food stamps, free healthcare, and free rent and by having a few more kids, double what's free?

I'd help you out but I sent in all my extra money for the 2nd Qtr estimated tax.
Now I'm working my butt off to get enough to pay September's.
Now back to work, all the dudes standing down at the Quick Stop corner and drinking out of brown paper bags are depending on me.

Right. One vote that can be cancelled out and trumped by the vote of some dead guy.
The most telling thing to me was when I witnessed many years ago a guy put a bag of dog food back and buy a bunch of ground beef instead to feed his dog because you couldn't buy dog food with food stamps.
The abuse of the system is startling and those on it can live on it forever. Why try when it is already all handed to you?

No it isn't.
One is coerced. The other is voluntary.

Everyone has a right to live, that means the right to freedom, a job, a car and a home. No one should be forced to live without any of those. Here's where we live in different realities, Digger; your logic is self serving and I reject it entirely.
Freedom is the "right" that eludes you. Freedom to succeed and live, or to fail and die. What you describe is slavery: either as the recipient supported by nanny government; or as the victim, when you are the worker forced to support the useless, the unproductive, the parasites.
There's a third theory, the "pet theory", but that's a combnation of the other two, and the system that most of us are suffering under currently.

You are probably wasting your time, but I hope the troll will think about what you said. Of course, the troll probably fantasizes about being as loved as Robin Hood. If only the troll could fit its fat ass into a pair of green tights.

I'm sure I'm wasting my time. A liberal's biggest failing is the inability to think anything through to a conclusion.
Take tax policy for instance. Liberals high tax approach would work if whenever you earned a dollar, you created that dollar and every time you spent it that dollar was destroyed.
But if you think in through completely you realize that earning a dollar does not create that dollar. You are only exchanging it.
By keeping taxes low that dollar gets exchanged more often.
Simple.

I once got into an argument about environmental and economic issues with a gentleman named Mr. Marx.
I am not making this up.
Mr. Marx is an actual 31 year-old left-wing "organizer" in Washington, D.C. He has been arrested many times during protests and you can search for news stories about him on the Internet. "Marx" "Washington" "Protester" etc.
Mr. Marx looked at me with a straight face and said "Zero sum game? I have heard that expression before. What does that mean?"
I was interrupted by someone else before I could tell him that a "zero sum game" is one in which players make payments only to each other, one player's loss is the other player's gain, and the total amount of "money" available remains constant.
To this day, I still wonder if Mr. Marx ever learned what a "zero sum game" is.

Welfare is immoral because it degrades the person to whom it is given. (well not you apparently but most normal people) That it is wasteful is evident.
That people would die without it is subject to dispute.

Mr. Digger, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
