I just saw what (I believe to be) is the coolest thing I have ever seen.
But because we are at War, I won't compromise our security by sharing it -- TODAY.
Watch this space tomorrow and I will share with you all what I saw.
It was too cool by half.
Nice.
Hey I just notice Mt. Rushmore in the pic. KEWL!
Very nice. I read your revelation yesterday, but thank you for the follow-up ping.
The engines sounded quite different than anything I had heard before in a civvy jet. They seemed.... a little more thunderous and powerful. I believe that this jet could do some intense things.
Good story. Shades of "Countdown to LookingGlass"
Don't have any idea what the best rate of climb is for the Presidential version of the 747. Certainly the engines were in 'full military' so to speak. They don't have afterbuners, and the 747 doesn't have thrust to weight to go 'ballistic' i.e., fly straight up. Few aircraft do.
Lightly loaded 757s and MD-8Xs can climb spectacularly.
Be cool to see a 747 reach Angels 30 in 3 minutes ;-).
Good story, likely some hyperbole mixed in, but that's OK.
I'm sure that thing can do things and has capabilities we can't imagine and haven't seen. Course, they don't want anyone to know about it.
When my cousin was in the military, he used to say that we have all kinds of stuff that people don't know about.
I'll never forget the Prez leaving Daytona on Air Force One two or was it three years ago? That was one of the coolest sites I've ever seeh.
Where's Abe????
That does sound like a sight to behold. No doubt, there were VIPs on board.
(A few weeks ago, when the President was speaking in Philadelphia, a couple of fighter jets had to force a small plane to land when it wandered into restricted airspace. Of course, I didn't know what was happening. All I knew is that these fighter jets sounded like they were circling the area. Then I saw one fly right over my house. Thanks to FR, I found out what really happened. It was cool to watch, but probably not so cool for the pilot in the small aircraft forced to land). :-)
Nice picture. Did you snap it off my back deck?
oooh! Very neat! My son will love this photo!!
Thank you!!
Now you are forgiven for driving me nutso...way cool!
Likely some hyperbole in there. Or exageration.
But the guy was trying to convey the point that in all his experience he never saw a big jet takeoff like that. He was very impressed.
One of those jaw-drop moments.
I would have liked to seen it.
Okay, that is truly bad-ass.
Teddy's in my bed, and Abe's in my wallet.
Nope, that's not what I saw...it was way cooler.
Yup. That's pretty cool.
What did you see?
Sorry, can't ever tell...they said they'd find me no matter what....it was in the Tidewater VA are though, so others must have seen it also.
Then I *TAKE BACK* telling you what I told you.
