June 10, 2006 was the date for the World Naked Bike Ride, which -- as its name suggests -- is an international political event at which protesters take off all their clothes and ride bicycles through various cities around the globe.
The focus of the protest is theoretically to encourage people to give up their "dependence on fossil fuel" -- but in practice the messages (which the organizers tell participants to paint directly on their bodies) are more scattered, ranging from "free speech" to presidential politics.
I attended the San Francisco version of the event, which started at noon in the city's Justin Herman Plaza.
Most of the photos presented below are self-explanatory (and self-parodying), so I'll keep the captions to a minimum
Except for the three young ladies, and a couple of the younger guys, it looks like a bunch of left overs from the '60s Free Speech movement. Not just ideological left overs, all of them are that, but the same guys.
I wasn't really sure...never saw anything like that before. Not bare, anyway.
I especially like how they gussy them up with all sorts of body paint. Painting them like flowers, or with smiley faces makes them look not so horrific and floppy. ;-)
I'm going to go puke now.
I used to be an HR manager for a courier company in SF - I admit I looked (at faces) to see if any of the bike messengers were there. There's a whole lotta people who shouldn't be naked in public.
(and nope, no familiar faces)
um...just because ping?
CNP PING
LOL!, At least this explains why liberal women are always so stressed out and angry all the time...
Oh man, I couldn't get through the whole thing.
gross!!
ROFLMAO!!!
Reminds me of a Seinfeld episode...
"Surely she knows about shrinkage!"
Guess I didn't really want my bagel to settle this morning anyway.
I had to look. I mean, I just HAD to look!
That really is in the running for the most disgusting one yet.
I am feeling much better now!!!!!!!
I have traveled East,
And I have traveled West.
And I hope to travel some more.
But, I have never seen anything
As ugly as that before!
FRee speech has nothing to do with this, of course.
The Founding Fathers intentions re: the First Amendment were to enable citizens to criticize politicians and not be thrown in jail or otherwise persecuted by said politicians.
As has happened with other provisions of the US Constitution, LIEberal judges have found Constitutional "penumbras" which allow dumbasses like these to ride their bikes in the nude and offend society without penalty.
Every one of their naked a$$e$ should have been thrown in jail!
They're liberals...apparently the ideology emasculates them. I did like the sign that said he spent his clothing budget on fuel...on the other hand, he was riding a bicycle...what fuel was he using?
Looks like about fifty horny old men and one good looking wman and two skanks.
Methane?
