Early in the Duke lacrosse rape investigation, Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong, who was in a close race to keep his job, spoke about the physical and emotional trauma the alleged victim had suffered at the hands of the players. A police affidavit stated that her medical records revealed the victim had "injuries consistent with being raped and sexually assaulted vaginally and anally." But according to a motion filed by defense attorneys last week, no such physical trauma was found during her exam at Duke hospital. Quoting from the report, which was submitted to the court under seal, the motion states that the nurse—who was in training—examined the woman's entire pelvic region and noted only diffuse swelling of the vaginal walls, a condition explainable by consensual sexual activity.
Police documents indicate that the accuser had in fact engaged in such activity in the days leading up to the incident. The accuser told police that she'd had sex with her boyfriend a week before. She added that she'd also performed using a vibrator in front of a couple. (Though the timing of this incident is not specific, the clear implication is that it had happened near the time of the lacrosse party.) And, according to defense attorneys, the boyfriend's seminal fluid was found in her, suggesting she'd also had sex with him within 72 hours. Jarriel Johnson, who identified himself as the woman's driver, told police in a statement that in addition to sleeping with the accuser himself a week prior to the party, he'd taken her to several appointments at hotels in the days before.

Nifong would be a household name and his career would flourish somehow. Didn't Vanderbilt just give the Black Professor from Duke, that said that Rape was a White Male issue, a big Raise and they hired his wife too (she had written a book on how black women bear the burden of the
rape and how it affects them all)
Option 2) Jury doesn't see enough evidence - he gave the woman her day in court and fulfilled his campaign promise.
The Jury decided, it's our system.
Woody Vann (Durham lawyer) has worked as a lawyer in Durham for many years and lived there his whole life, and Woody say's that Nifong has got to take it to court because he's stuck and he said if Nifong doesn't, he'll have hell to pay in the black community!

Look, we have a shameful history in this country of racial prejudice. One of the low points came in the 1930's when the Scottsboro Boys were pulled off a train in Alabama and charged with rape because of the lies of two white women. How and when did they locate the phone? Did the cops call the number to see where it was via GPS or tower location? Was it under something? Obviously, it could have been lost anywhere between the house and the hospital(s).

Yes, the players found CGM's property and gave it, along with the fingernails from the trash can, to the police who came to serve the search warrant.
The second search warrant does not tell the truth about the fingernails, and it gives the impression that the police just found the makeup bag, cell phone, and ID lying around in the house.
It says the fingernails were "recovered inside the residence consistent with her version of the attack.", which is BS.
Completely agree. She is probably an informer. I have long thought that she is in danger. A 'friend' will probably slip her some drugs so she can overdose a la Marilyn Monroe.

For years liberals have went on and on about having innocent people in jail and DNA setting them free. We see that doesn't apply to Duke lacrosse players.
The DA's office is where the request for a special prosecutor has to come from. Not gonna happen.
As a resident of the area, I do not want to pay a special prosecutor to go over all of this again, and cost the defendants and the rest of the players thousands more in attorney's fees.
Since Cline already works in the same office, there would not be anything "special" about it. That'd just be a re-assignment of the case. Estrich suggested a lawyer from the private sector be appointed.
The point is that appointing a special pros would not cost the boys more money. The special pros would dismiss the charges, which would be an "out" for Nifong. It would be a political maneuver, not a legal maneuver.
