re VW van owners...
Of course that's a limited sample size. And they all owned the old 4-cylinder dogs...so maybe the folks with the 6-cylinder models are a different breed. Same nuts, they are just college professors making more money now...

I loved the character of Hopper's annoying brother (name escapes me), P.T. Flea, and David Hyde Pierce as Slim, the walking stick: "You always cast me as the broom, the pole, a stick, a splinter." Kills me every time!

So how long did it take for the John Ratzenberger voiced character to show up in Cars?

Well it was a bit jarring to see Todd Rundgren instead of Ric Ocasek but he pulled it off pretty well. They did some decent updated versions of classic material and threw in some new stuff as well including the "Not Tonight" single. New album comes out Tuesday.

That movie is like a perfect time capsule of what it was like in the 1980s. I like the scene where the principal thinks he is impressing the student by saying that he makes $31,000 a year or something like that.

Less than ten minutes. He's the big truck (Mack) that serves as Lightning McQueen's trailer.

Haven't seen the movie, but saw the preview on Disney channel that shows the VW bus and the Army jeep looking at the flashing traffic light. The VW is tripping out on the light, and the jeep says, "Get a car wash, hippie!" Hilarious!!!! We have to go see it!

I liked it a lot. IMHO, it wasn't as good as
The Incredibles or
Monsters, Inc.,
two of my all-time favorite movies, but it was as good as the original
Toy Story.
I haven't read the thread, and I have to leave now, so if you've read this previously, I apologize...
DON'T LEAVE THE THEATER UNTIL THE CREDITS ARE OVER. YOU WILL DIE LAUGHING.

It was an animated remake of "Doc Hollywood" That's exactly what I thought from watching the trailers.

Saw it this weekend.
Best computer-generated animation EVER. Some of the race scenes were very realistic. This is worth seeing on the big screen, at matinee prices.
The plot was ordinary. Very similar to "Doc Hollywood." But its still a good story.
Some funny stuff. Unfortunately, I left during the credits.
Pixar produced another winner. Tough to follow 'The Incredibles', but still a good movie for the whole family.

My 7-year old grandson and I enjoyed it very much. Good story, terrific graphics, and enough humor in it for kids and adults. It was also refreshing to listen to Larry the Cable Guy doing PG-type humor.

THe VW van's voice was done by George Carlin, so that explains that right there. :)
