All of their "new fans" bought the new CD and evidently, had more than enough.

I was listening to to a live Santana concert on XM Radio last Friday and was jamming to the tunes until Carlos said "This one is for George Bush!" then started playing "You've got to change your evil ways."

GRRRR!

Let's see...New York City, San Francisco, Austin, Minneapolis, Ithica, Oakland, Boston...

Industry execs knew there was going to be a significant trouble as soon as they were told the first release was going to be Not ready to shut our steaming pieholes, or whatever it's called.

A thumb in the eye is not what the country-music fan wanted at this moment.

They are heavily promoting (and selling) the CD at Starbucks.

I suspect that has a lot to do with the "excellent" initial CD sales.

So long Dixie Chicks. Used to love ya. Now I couldn't care any less. I prefer pro-American singers.

I'm just thankful that I never paid for any of your CD's.

In contrast, the band’s new album, “Taking the Long Way,” sold 526,000 units its first week

Watch the DNC or some PAC offer a Dixie Chicks CD with every donation above $100 or so. I'm guessing that's where about 426,000 of those "units" went.
