They are heavily promoting (and selling) the CD at Starbucks.
I suspect that has a lot to do with the "excellent" initial CD sales.

In contrast, the bands new album, Taking the Long Way, sold 526,000 units its first week Watch the DNC or some PAC offer a Dixie Chicks CD with every donation above $100 or so. I'm guessing that's where about 426,000 of those "units" went.
