We can't even keep the 50 states from slitting each others throats. I can't imagine that a North American union would stand much chance of success.

[ In March 2005 at their summit meeting in Waco, Tex., President Bush, President Fox and Prime Minister Martin issued a joint statement announced the creation of the “Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America” (SPP). ]

The Coup D'etat.. is alive and well.. progressing as planned..
Is it TREASON?... How can 20 plus million brand new democrats be a GOOD THING?.. -OR- are "they" the gambit that forces the Coup D'etat?..

If you do not know, you had better find out.. Because the voting demographics in the United States are changing massivly DAILY.. And many many Americans are bleating like sheep un nerved by all the wolves howling..

The Coup D'etat is well on its way.. The "Chief" with the most "coup"(feathers) is George Bush.. Lovely headdress he has but his dance is for the demise of the United States.. (as we have known it)..

And the republican Congress is being run by Custer..

I don't believe it.

If it has funding then it is subject to congressional oversight.

If it is a treaty it will been to to be ratified.

The President is empowered to negotiate with foreign governments but implementing policy requires congress.

Not to mention security cooperation is a good idea - if we can stop cocaine, heroin and terrorists from getting onto North America in the first place this would be a good thing.

Now, it looks like Mexico is about to elect leftists with support from Chavez and Fidel - if that happens we may have to go unilateral but as long as they have a semi-rational government it makes sense to talk and work together where its in our best interest.

HELLO, SHEISSEKOPF!

Pussy Martin hasn't been the PM here since the January 2006 election.

Take a look at what our genuinely Conservative PM has done so far with a decidedly MINORITY government, and then post something relevant.

DUMBKOPF.

The only borders or tariffs which would remain would be those around the continent, not those between the countries within.

The ballot box will decide that, A$$holes!

Big 1100-post thread on this topic over the Memorial Day weekend with tons of research and links. Go here:

Also, please note that on August 25, 2000 Bush gave what's known as his Century of the Americas speech. Before we elected him the first time, he told us what he wanted. An alliance of all the Americas. Here it is.

Thanks for the ping, calcowgirl. Jeffersonschild, you'll be interested in this article, too.

I just happened to read through the document to which he refers earlier today. He's right, there's absolutely nothing in it which states any of this is a recommendation, or conditioned upon approval by the representatives and senators of the American people. It only refers to "stakeholders", business interests and other elite politicos.

Old news...
THE OAS AND THE INTER-AMERICAN SYSTEM

The Organization of American States (OAS) is the world's oldest regional organization, dating back to the First International Conference of American States, held in Washington, D.C., from October 1889 to April, 1890. This meeting approved the establishment of the International Union of American Republics. The Charter of the OAS was signed in Bogota in 1948 and entered into force in December 1951. The Charter was subsequently amended by the Protocol of Buenos Aires signed in 1967, which entered into force in February 1970, and by the Protocol of Cartagena de Indias, signed in 1985, which entered into force in November 1988. In 1992, the Protocol of Washington was signed and in 1993 the Protocol of Managua was signed. The Protocol of Washington will enter into force upon ratification by two-thirds of the Member States. The Protocol of Managua entered into force on January 29, 1996. The OAS currently has 35 Member States. In addition, the Organization has granted Permanent Observer status to 37 States, as well as the European Union.

I first heard of this last year and did not believe the lady that told we about it. She was fighting mad and ready to leave the GOP over it.

What can be done to stop this if anything? Guess its best never to trust anyone that runs for any office.

To me this is the last straw.

I've been saying this many times but National Referendum is not a bad idea in such a case. At the very least it would scare the daylights out of politicians and remind them who is boss.
