We can't even keep the 50 states from slitting each others throats. I can't imagine that a North American union would stand much chance of success.
It's absurd with two diametrically opposed economic nations such as the U.S. and third world Mexico.
It might work, economically, between say Canada and the U.S., but this would be like trying to throw Sudan and Somalia into the mix of the European Union.
GEE! I wonder what the logicial conclusion would be there, ... Hmmmm...
