Prayer Vigil for the Immigration Issue

Prayer Vigil For the Immigration Crisis

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. 1 Timothy 2: 1-2, RSV

Dear FRiends, I invite you to join us in a 24 hour a day prayer vigil to ask God's help and protection and guidance on the immigration issue before Congress.

Let us place our country's needs before our Father's throne of grace that the right actions will be taken to protect our country and keep it safe.

We are asking for people to be willing to pray for at least 1/2 hours blocks. I will organize this on a 7 day schedule, to continue to rotate until the crisis is resolved. If you can, please consider pledging at the same time each day, but if you can't let me know your schedule. It will go on until this issue is settled.

If you want to pledge, let me know your time choices, and let me know your time zone!

A Prayer for Our Nation

God bless America again
You must know the trouble that she's in
Wash her pretty face, dry her eyes and then
God bless America again

Ya know, I wish God would bless America again
Like he did way back there when it all began
He blessed her then and we sorta took it
for granted and didn't ask again
So let's just kinda hold her hand again... that's all
In case she stumbles let's don't let her fall

God bless America again
You must know the trouble that she's in
Wash her pretty face, dry her eyes and then
God bless America again

I don't understand everything I read
and hear about what's wrong with America
When you don't have a lot of book learnin
there's many things you don't understand
But I know this much, she's like a Mother to me
and I love her with all my heart
And let me tell you this Sir
everything I am or ever hope to be
I owe to her!

God bless America again
You must know the trouble that she's in
Wash her pretty face, dry her eyes and then
God bless America again
Oh yes, God bless America again

God Bless America and Our Great Military

Midday prayer vigil ping!

Dear Lord and Father,
Please bless our nation, even with all its thoughts.

Please help those who need to turn to you to open their eyes.

Evening Prayer Ping!

Lord,
evening falls across our country.

Even though the day grows late, we know you never stop watching over your people.

We ask you to guard our country through the night, Lord, for our enemies still wish us harm.

Watch over our military far from home and their families who await the return of their loved ones.

Lord, please touch the hearts of those who would harm us, either here at home or abroad. Help those who work to protect our nation, from the highest office to the official at the border.

Protect us Lord, from our own self-destruction, and help us draw closer always to your light.

In the name of Jesus the Christ our Lord, Amen.

Morning Prayer Vigil Bump!

Dear Lord,
This morning, we remember that first Pentecost of the Church, where your Holy Spirit poured out upon the followers of Christ.

This morning we ask you to pour out your Spirit in a special way on the hearts of those whose job it is to protect our nation, and guide them as you would have them go.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

PSALM 92 (Amplified Bible)

1. It is a good and delightful thing to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises (with musical accompaniment) to Your name, O Most High.

2. To show forth Your loving-kindness in the morning and Your faithfulness by night.

3. With an instrument of ten strings and with the lute, with a solemn sound upon the lyre.

4. For You, O Lord, have made me glad by Your works; at the deeds of Your hands I joyfully sing.

5. How great are Your doings, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep.

6. A man in his rude and uncultivated state knows not, neither does a (self-confident) fool understand this:

7. That though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they are doomed to be destroyed forever.

8. But You, Lord, are on high forever.

9. For behold, Your adversaries, O Lord, for behold. Your enemies shall perish; all the evildoers shall be scattered.

10. But my horn (emblem of excessive strength and stately grace) You have exalted like that of a wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil.

11. Me eye looks upon those who lie in wait for me; my ears hear the evildoers that rise up against me.

12. The (uncompromisingly) righteous shall flourish like the palm tree (be long-lived; stately, upright, useful, and fruitful); they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon (majestic; stable; durable, and incorruptible).

13. Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of God.

14. (Growing in grace) they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap (of spiritual vitality) and (rich in the) verdure (of trust, love and contentment).

15. (They are living memorials) to show that the Lord is upright and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock and there is no unrighteousness in Him (Rom. 9:14)

~Americans~ may have need for border security, but that is a human, worldly, not holy, goal.

That's even better.
