Be functional, and name him "Cat".

Can you give us more information, such as how and/or why you acquired him? Those answers could supply significant info to influence the naming.
For example, our cat's name is Cheney. We named him for the VP partly because he is gray and wise but mostly because we got him around the time that we had been in DC chanting to Al Gore to "Get out of Cheney's house!"

Name him Steve.
Or Larry.
Or Mike.
Or Phil.
Or Brian.
I prefer Steve, myself. It's funny.
Meet my cat, Steve.

"Böggvir" seems like a sensible Viking name.

Cats name themselves.
I have a new bengal I got last month, he has yet to be named.
Eventually you will call him by his name, just watch him/her for a while and it will come to you.
I have a wigster, a gypsey, a dustbuster and a buddy as far as cats go.

I had a cat who looked very much like yours. I called him Tuffy. Or how about Tigger?
To: Dog Gone
Rumsfeld. Not bad. How about Rummy?
