Look, there are Jews that are mostly Jews and some Jews that are mostly leftists. The latter don't count in a positive way in this world or the next.
For the life of me I cannot understand the devotion of many blacks and Jews to the Dem Party. Blacks get patronized and kowtowed to every election cycle, then the day after the election they are forgotten for two more years. Jimmy Carter tried to sell out Israel, Bill Clinton was Yasir Arafat's best friend. What would it take? FDR is gone people and it's no longer the Dem PArty of his time!

Neither. Just don't talk politics. She sounds just like my parents and I'm not cutting them off or even arguing with them about it anymore. They are set in their thinking just like we are with ours.

Clinton was not impeached for a consentual sex affair. He was impeached for lying under oath, TWICE. Anyone else would have been, and some have been, sent to jail for lying under oath.
Here's my 2 cents, Hildy. Write her off. I'm not saying you need to "write her off" as a new friend, just "write her off" as someone you wish to debate world affairs with. I have an ultra-liberal sister who could drive me mad if I let her. I've tried using facts, but that is like pouring salt on the wounded liberal. Like the old saying goes, "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make 'em drink". Unlike horses, stubborn asses can't even be lead to the dang water. ;)
At first I thought, well, just bring up a point for every point she has with a rational logical response.
Then I remembered my most recent conversation with a cousin and aunt. I tried to be civil but left and have no interest in talking with them again. Why, you ask? Because the hate for Bush was really all that was there...the content made no difference, they didn't want to have a real discussion. The rage and hate these people have for Bush will just come at you, like it did for me. I don't want to subject myself to that anymore.
