Hey, everybody's known for a long time that pedophiles seek out professions where they can play the role of a trusted authority figure in order to seduce kids.

That's true for some scoutmasters and Catholic priests, as we've seen. It's no surprise to find out that the teaching profession is a lure for perverts who want kiddie-sex... the only thing surprising about it is how prevalent it seems to be.

I think the only answer is a serious vetting process before any teacher is hired.

...it was the only time I was punished for classroom antics, that prove to be more troublesome..... Our third floor window at the end of the hall was the spot for such duties, but that location also allowed for the occasional "sortie" to retrieve dropped erasers during the school day, an event that was very rare indeed at Holy Cross School. My intentional flip and quick exit down the three flights of stairs to recover the chalk ladened implement nearly proved fatal when rounding the corner of the school I literal ran into Father Clancy wiping the white dust from his black robe
