Just mentioned on Fox coverage of Yanks-Mets. Finally...
A-rod is already at 438 and he's only 30.
Super. Hope he reaches Hank this year.
NYYankees just beat NYMets, after entering the ninth down 0-4! Go Yanks!
That must've been the fireworks display after the HR...
That's how many asterisks are needed for all the roided records in MLB.
I want him to pass Aaron now. I don't want any potential apologists saying "well it's not like he holds the record for career homers, let's just let the matter go away quietly." If he passes Aaron, baseball has to act. Both Ruth and Aaron deserve better than allowing Barry the cheat's records to stand.
LOL! I love the work of the SF Chronicle.
A steroid asterisk, asteroid-sized, for which Bonds chose his a$$ to risk.
Help me out here....are you saying they lied?
I'm so p*ssed about what just happened. Billy Wagner is a useless, overpaid punk. This was his fourth blown save of the season already, and he cannot throw a strike. If he is ever allowed to pitch for the Mets again this season they will not win a damn thing.
It seems to me that a lot of players are looking a lot thinner. Pudge Rodriguez is looking a lot slimmer than he did and his home run numbers have dropped off too but he still gets the RBIs.
I'm not saying that Bomds isn't good but roids sure do help with the power.
Chronicle reports? Oh no they only use the highest reporting standards.
I'm glad you're able to acknowledge the book is accurate, rather than cowardly claiming it's false but hiding that claim behind cheap sarcasm.
Bonds is a punk. Without steroids, he would never have broken 300. The only good news is that he will never get a World Series ring and hopefully his records will be revised or at least astericked.
I think he would have done as well. Steroids doesn't make the ball go further or increase bat speed. In fact that size hinders it. His homer pace was as good before he bulked up. I still content he didn't use steroids. It is possible to gain size using free weights (not Nautilus) and supplements.
"In all my years in baseball I never could have imagined how anti-climactic it would be when someone tied Ruth's career home run total. Look at that clip of the home run we just saw on FOX . . . IT WAS ALMOST AS IF IT WERE JUST ANOTHER HIGHLIGHT CLIP FROM A MAJOR LEAGUE GAME TODAY."
Well, we sure didn't let Bonds do it in Houston, anyway! And we've got the casualties (suspensions) to prove it.
Now how many more games has it taken Bonds to tie Ruth steroids and all? More than 200,I believe.
