Although Microsoft has said it would not put transforms into the next version of Office, there are already a number of third parties creating ODF plug-ins for the Microsoft productivity suite. Why do articles like this state the obvious? M$FT would never make it easier to use their products with the competition.
I am curious though is Notes still a big deal given the number of other ways to collaborate?

I'm glad I left.

I'm glad I left.i miss Lotus Smart Suite. i hope they release a Linux version. It was an idiot proof product. Since i'm too much an idiot to be able to run WINE...
BTW, i found that Lotus Smart Suite runs fine on Windows XP, even though the version i have was designed for upgrade from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95. i guess "DOS still ain't done". ("DOS ain't done till Lotus won't run").

As soon as Bill Gates decides that we need a OS for out toasters, they'll make kitchen appliances (Black & Decker better watch out!).........

OT Comment, but sort of related:
Several years ago, I tried Lotus Organizer. I discovered that is was totally impossible to delete any muslim holiday. Delete a Christian or secular holiday? You betcha. But never a muslim one.
Strange, huh?

ISO approval 'unlikely for Microsoft Open XML' Ouch. If it plays out like Gartner thinks, that's going to leave a mark.

"IBM is bigger than Microsoft."
Yes, but they don't make PC's any more. They recently sold their PC making business to the Chinese...and Microsoft makes more profits than IBM does.
