Yes, there's another religious group that does things like that over depictions they don't like. Great example to emulate! :)

Really? Are Christians calling for Dan Brown to be beheaded and targeting Ron Howard's children for assassination? Please point me to the news article and photos which prove that claim. Otherwise, withdraw your comparison as spurious and bigoted.

If Christians were anything like Muslims, a movie like this would NEVER have been made.

Oh, so you equate protesting with beheading?

And I notice that "other group" doesn't have smug hollywood actors making movies that denigrate their religion.

I'm with you. Enjoyed it so much
I went on to read his other
book Angels and Demons.

Neither affected my faith whatsoever.

No, they mostly just yell in the streets to get coverage. I can withdraw the comparison when you tell me exactly what YOU mean by "followed and accused of their bigotry at every stop they make."

Sorry, that should be to Dreagon as well since it was a quote from his post.

I think way too many people LOOK for things to be offended by these days.

My greatkids took me to see
HPGF just because I've read
all the novels several times.
But if there's a movie I
want to see, I wait for it
to hit the local Walmart and
buy it. I don't buy every
one...but I do have a
considerable little library
of favorite films.

How can you make a judgment
about something you have
absolutely NO means of
evaluating. Worse, how
can you ADMIT to spouting
about something beyond
your own knowledge? You are
merely mouthing what someone
else has said.

Please...avoid stepping into
the voting booth!

You're not really comparing Christians making use of their 1st Amendment rights to Muslims advocating killing people (and actually killing people), are you? Feel free to cleave to your spurious comparison, then. You're obviously off your rocker.

The Muslims in the streets demonstrating over the Mohammed cartoons were blustering, but no one has been killed over those cartoons to my knowledge.

What do you take "followed and accused of their bigotry at every stop they make" to mean? If it's not a public demonstration, then of course I retract the comparison.

You can probably find some forged document that says anything you want but the Bible gives a well documented back to the earliest of times.

Oh, I see. Calling for the beheading of cartoonists is just "blustering" now. That's why they're in hiding with their families and that female member of parliament in the Netherlands has a 24 hour body guard. To protect them from "bluster", no doubt. And I suppose that plot to kidnap one of the cartoonist's children while they were at school, that was just "bluster" too?

The next time you run across a Catholic protest where they're holding up signs calling for Dan Brown to have his head cut off, let me know, will you?

Exercising their 1st Amendment right to protest publicly (Christians) versus calling for the death of people who criticize them (Muslims)? It's laughable that you're so obsessively fixated on lumping the two together. I guess that was in the talking points memo, though.

There, you FINALLY answered the question. Then I agree it's most likely not an apposite comparison. You certainly took your time about it.

I think it just entertains you to pick fights with me. :)

I said almost exactly the same thing using different words in several posts above. Perhaps it just took you a while to comprehend it? You get consolation points for withdrawing the innane comparison.

I think it just entertains you to pick fights with me. :)

You show up on a thread like this and compare Christians to lunatic Muslims and yet, somehow, I'm picking a fight with you?

It's by no means the first time. However, I don't feel singled out; I read over a list of your posts in various places and you're just angry all the time. It must be exhausting. Au revoir! :)

With all due respect, if you haven't read the book, then how can you possibly have an educated opinion about it?

People have been writing conspiracy theories about DaVinci, the Knights Templar et al for decades now. All this book does is sum them up in a fictional story line.

These conspiracy theories are directed at the Catholic Church and not Christ per se. I'm catholic by the way, and I found the book rather fascinating...inaccurate in many spots...but entertaining.
